No angle  Or mostly I haven't thought of one yet, just an idle curiosity to find out what everyone is on about.

Well you tell me what do you think "everyone is on about" ?

A bit presumptious maybe

From what I can see you are a [edited by admin] but maybe soon you might say something Intellegent

having said that, the other side doesnt seem that clever either

I'm glad we got that out the way, now how about your views on derestriction?

Having owned and operated for more years than I care to remember and I might add survived it the last time   I can only say that if there is good reason to derestrict then go for it, but a more common sense approach would surely be managed growth.

And before you start ranting and raving  This is my view and I wont be drawn into a slanging match with you or anyone else.

Jack.

I agree with you Jack this would be a common sense approach. unfortunately I just can't see it happening  People have different ideas of managed growth

I've had three guys on the phone in as many nights reaching for the razor blades.

They can't believe how bad it is out there and they know it is only going to get worse.

Here's the latest figure from licensing.

Private hire license's 753

Thats down 35 cars since Febuary.

Thats down 19 cars since May last year.

Now answer me this question.

WHATS HAPPENED TO YOUR THEORY THAT THE PH ARE INCREASING IN NUMBERS EVERY MONTH, NAE YEAR?

Interesting - wasn't there a decrease in PH at the airport, or are these figures not included are am I barking up the wrong tree?

Of course, managed growth is just spin for doing the bare minimum to comply with the law - ie any increase in numbers recommended by a survey.

Meanwhile, the real managed growth is such a scenario is usually in plate premiums and PH numbers. Of course, there may have been a slight retrenchment in this recently, but the long term trend certainly seems to have borne this out.

If you are saying that airport ph don't count then the figure for ph is 593
That number can be reduced more if we knew the true figure of cars used for school runs only and special events vehicles.

But I don't think Garry would agree with the above.

Not really, Ross. What I was getting at was that couldn't the decrease in the PH shown in your figures be accounted for by a decrease in the numbers at the airport?

If so then your figures wouldn't undermine the PH growth thesis as much as they might appear at first glance because of the particular special circumstances prevailing at the airport?

Ross I don't disagree with anything you say there would be no point. You can have it any way you like.
