All this seems a bit sanctimonious in view of the stuff you've posted in the past TC, which has usually been characterised by a surfeit of smilies and little substance, combined with some rather 'vile' name calling, to use your terminology.

If you were such a paragon of forum virtue you would rise above it all and not respond in kind, but you're not capable of that, so less of the double standards please.

If you want to go on a crusade to clean up the taxi forums then why pick only on TDO, since given the stuff that's been tolerated on other forums then I don't think this site has anything in particular to be ashamed of.

I don't like some of the stuff that's being posted (which is why I don't read a lot of it), but it's tolerated on other forums, and it's going both ways, yet you pounce on one little remark (I'm assuming, having spent a little while trying to work out exactly what you're on about) that's just a drop in the ocean compared to the bigger picture.

Perhaps not too relevant, but thousands visit the site's frontpage alone every month, for example, even though it only generally changes every few weeks.

But your apparent hypocrisy is purely and simply so self-evident because your concern for people's feelings is largely synthetic and, as I said, a proxy for the substantive taxi issues, in particular the issue of restricted numbers.

Isn't it funny the way that only the opponents of restricted numbers ever seem to be in the wrong as regards forum conduct according to the worldview of people like yourself?

And your dogged determination not to say exactly what it is that you objected to the other day lends weight to the view that you're more intent merely on trouble making rather than the ostensible issue.

And if I'm correct about what precisely it is you claim to have a problem with then the subject of the jibe has not complained to us and indeed has done pretty well in dealing with it himself, which is to his credit.

As have Skull, Ali T et al when they've been subject to abusive and vitriolic diatribes.

It's all a bit sad really, but it's become evident that to participate in any of the forums then you need a fairly thick skin, but it's a bit pathetic when you seem to expect some to have a thick skin but others have to be wrapped in cotton wool.

No one is forced to read or participate on here, so if you don't like it then why don't you lump it?

So any offensive remark, whether it's sexist, racist or whatever is acceptable to you so long as it's "made in jest". that opens so many possibilities there, but those are depths to which I will just not sink.

As for occupying the high ground, well the low ground is over-run with Garry and his gang, and I make no apology for holding the high ground and maintaining my morals. What have I done to aid debate? - I have attempted to show Skull and his ageing crony for the kind of people they are - and thanks to your site they've frequently demonstrated they are thuggish bully-boys who will sink to any depths to score what they perceive as a point - leaving people to draw their own conclusions as to the validity of their completely spurious and unsupported rantings.

You and your team on the other hand don't truly support debate - just your own agenda, but please don't insult the intelligence of some of us by defending that myth. Opinions masquerading as facts seems to cover most of it.

As I said, in the real world, much of what is written here and across the net is irrelevant - and I include my own contributions - to me it's just a nice wee distraction from the mundane reality of earning a living.

Thanks for that Ross you might be right why don't you ask the council or the cab inspector to pull me up. You can pass on a message while you are at it. Tell them Garry says to 'kiss me him where the sun doesn't shine'. I think you will find they have already faced me in an open meeting and don't want to repeat the experience.

I ripped them up for ar** paper. A lot of very embarrassed face. Funny how they threaten to take away your licence but I can't give it away.
