Hi Guys,

If you get caught doing a left at 'ahead only' traffic lights do you get a fine, or is it points on your licence + fine?

Thanks

If its within London, its £100 but no points, theres a 50% reduction if you pay within 14 days.

Personally I've appealed the two I got sent for Box Junction contraventions, check the signage is clear and not obstructed before you cough up. O:)

That's providing you were caught on camera of course, not every turn in London is covered.

Funnily enough i was on my way back from handing in my application at the PCO, it was the no left turn at the Pentoville road / Upper street junction.

Yes, Islington Council like a PCN or two, the original left wing azzhole council.

If your serious about becoming one of the worlds best ( ) then I can recommend this site, Deans been going for a few years now, and to be honest probably runs the best school available.

Is the knowledge point school any good? I got the first 80 runs from the KP shop today and they invited me to one of their open days at the beginning of July.

Thanks for the recommendation, i will check out wizann's website! I have seen loads of good feedback for this school on various (dead) forums

I'm planning on doing the knowldge full time, i'm currently in IT but will be handing in my notice when/if i get invited to the talk.

Thanks

Malcolm Linskey runs KP.

They're ok, a bit 'take your money, and let you get on with it' approach.
Dean is very 'into' the trade, and is more hands on with the help he dishes out.

I did'nt use a school, a good 'call over partner' is better, at the end of the day the Knowledge schools are buisnesses, and you have to pay.

Its free if you do it yourself, about three years of commitment, but its worth it in the end. :-$

School is a waste of time until you have finished the blue book...all you do is get frustrated because you have no idea what anyone is talking about....get a good partner and if you feel he is holding you back, dump him and get another......... 8) Ive been out 7 years, it took me 2years 8 months and 14 appearances..........stick with it.......good luck 8)

Hi David,

Were you doing the knowledge full-time?

The schools have suggested that i cover about 50% of the blue book before starting. I think i will just try to find a good COP and see how i get on!

Is it best to point at the same time as doing the runs? Or should i start doing that when i have finished the blue book.

Many Thanks

Hi Portuk

No mate I did it part time...billls have to be paid, I was very lucky I had a security job 5 days 6-1 and 1-9 alternate weeks, plenty of time to go out....nature of the job meant I was a cardboard cut out so I could call over with some of my more helpful colleages at work....do not expect to get through any faster by doing it full time...top priority is to get a decent bike that will see you through it......good luck!
