TAXI ROW MAN'S FALL

A REVELLER suffered serious head injuries after jumping over a wall while doing a runner from a taxi - and plunging 30ft.

The 29-year-old had sprinted away from the cab after he damaged the car and got into an argument with the driver.

A friend who was with him told police that the man jumped over a wall to escape, unaware there was a 30ft drop on to concrete.

He was found in the car park at Cardiff Arms Park rugby ground after a groundsman was called out to unlock the gates.

The injured man is said to be in a stable condition in hospital.

Reminds me of an incident round our waya while back. Young ned is refusing to pay a £10 fare that ended outside the nightclub and is giving the driver dogs abuse when plod turns up doing the rounds.
Plod - "give the driver a tenner and you can go"
Ned - " f off ya dirty pig"
Plod - "give him £20 or its a night in the cells"
Ned - "eh? its only a tenner"
Plod - "well i seen 20 on the meter before it was switched off!"

Made the guy hand over £20 and sent the driver on his way, turns out the constable had done a few months driving taxis before joining the force and knew the crack :D

There was one last night, a road closed off due to an incident, with police manning the road block, the fare a young lad, refused to pay because the driver had not taken him to his destination, the driver said we could go back and go round the other way but the punter wasn't having it

the driver stuck his head out of the cab window at the road block, caught the attention of 3 or 4 coppers, [£3.40 on the meter] this person does not want to pay the taxi driver cos you lot [the coppers] have blocked off the road, the driver told the coppers,

good evening sir to the punter, the copper said, we have a van just handy waiting, plus magistrates in the morning after a night in the cells, after a load of swearing and verbal to the police by the punter, they made him empty his pockets out and wahaa, a nice crisp tenner, by this time the fare was £5 odd, plus he couldn't gain access through the road on foot, long walk mate, bye

When the last runner I had, got this young copper who was put on the case, he said to me "my dads a taxi driver so I am going to bring the cuprit to book" it is his and your livelyhood, he got the person, it went to court, got a cheque from court, 5 quid taxi fare plus an hour making statement, wont 20 quid loss of earnings, got that as well from The Beak

I took this person home by taxi at the end of the journey all I got from them was that they were ever so sorry but they had spent all there money up town and I don't have any left to pay you, that was when I got them to the door I'm ever so sorry, and goodnight, noticed which house they went in and got the cops
well done the taxi driver's son, the copper
