Wrong TC you read all my post and the only reason you are on here is because of me. You got frightened when I offered to answer your questions and started asking some of my own, that was the last we seen of you.

Quote:
Today I had a spare 5 minutes, and what do I find - Groundhog Day - Garry is till seeing multiple personalities in the shadows, and threatening people with violence.

No threats form me my bonny lad merely helping another Edinburgh Taxi millionaire with his enquires as to my employment status. In return he has told the whole world about the money he’s making and not paying tax on. Some people are really strange.

Garry delete your logon here and use all of your time to get a job.

I sit here slogging over a hot computer doing just that I really don’t see a future in taxis anymore especially in Edinburgh. The hours are to long, the pay is crap, and well, you know the drill TC.

Quote:
That's what we are all paying our taxes towards your jobseekers allowance for, not for you to procratinate here about hard done by you are, and what a bad place driving taxis for a living is - move on - looks like everyone else in your life has done, and left your behind, you sad pathetic excuse for a human being.

Not sure about ‘all’ paying taxes if you know who I mean. (BTW what’s this word procratinate) I am studying my ass off rather than wasting my time peddling backwards. If any one is living a Groundhog Day it is you TC I merely tell the truth.

Let’s face it TC you though all your birthdays had come at once when Jack big gob come on here looking to take me on. Instead he makes a complete and utter tit of himself then you appear to help him out on a sort of wound licking exercise.

Sad but true.

Why don’t you all frequent the Cabby forum or Fasties you would have more success on there. Saying that a lot of people would be denied some good entertainment watching you lot getting pish** on

You really do have an pathetic inflated opinion of yourself. I haven't read all your post - you're not that interesting or original and certainly don't have anything to say other than abuse, and here you continue - like I said - away and get a job, and use your jobseekers allowance wisely        If you're having a problem getting a job, you should look at the reasons why.............

As for helping out jackcab - seems like he's more than capable of helping himself. But like the majority of taxi drivers in Edinburgh, never met him and don't know him.

And excuse my spelling - you're sometimes not worth taking the time to hit the spell checker. The word as you know was procrastinate - something you're an expert at doing.

You have read all my post TC and you do find my posts interesting and original which is more than can be said for you.

Everyone knows you just can’t help yourself TC this is where you get the chance to make a complete ar** of yourself without fear of being recognised. Under normal circumstance no one would give you the time of day and really it should be the same on here. Talk about being stuck in a loop. I think everyone has a fair idea of what you are going to say next so lets pretend everyone has read it and all are very impressed by it. You see how I am trying to help you out.

And here was me thinking that you stopped reading when I asked you to offer a proper critique of 'Myth and Reality' instead of mindless and unsubstantiated criticisms, but you couldn't. :-s

I thought I'd answered that one - it was based on urbans myths and a warped vision you call reality, and wasn't worthy of my further consideration.

But you can't even provide one teeny weeny example

But you're right it was based on urban myths, ie those emanating from the average taxi ranks, and the paper's purpose was to debunk those myths, and it must have done a pretty good job judging by your response :D

You are bang on Ross.

You are only an asset to the taxman if you have something you value to protect, hide or both. Meanwhile all your so called friends judge their world by the loss of others until it’s their turn. Don't think for one minute they want you to succeed in most cases they don't. In other words you are building yourself up for a fall. I know, as you so have eloquently pointed out I've been there and you are wrong to think I want you to fall also. Quite honestly I don’t care either way. My life will not become easier to live because of what happens to you. The problem the system has with guys like me is I don't give sh** I don't value what you or the next man has in the way you do. I would give up everything all over again just to live the way I do. I answer to no one with the threat or fear of having something taken away I wouldn’t gladly give up in a heart beat. You are a slave to the system Jack and don’t be surprise if they come looking for you. You may be in the position to point and say you have nothing but believe me I look at you and say there is a man living with the fear of losing everything. This is your world Jack and you’re welcome to it. What brought you to this forum Jack if not the fear of losing everything or was it just to have a go at me?

Okay Jack I am talking sh** just wait until it’s your turn to fall. and fall you will :-|

A reasonable post that deserves a reasonable response.

Firstly can I make it quite clear that I fear the taxman not one little bit as I have encountered this particular [edited by admin] on frequent occasions over the years and in differant businesses and won and lost in equal measure, but one thing I will never agree with is that we must live in fear of the taxman, your destiny is very much in your own hands as far as this problem is concerned.

Ross- If you feel uncomfortable with the posting of earnings then I will refrain from posting them but the only point I was trying to make was that things wern't as bad as some would like to make out on here.

Gary- You show a certain naivety in your post, what makes you think you are the only one that has come up against adversity when dealing with officialdom? You continue to act as if your unique and that your the first one ever to have fought the system
THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOU AND MOST OF THE OTHER GUYS IS THAT THEY DONT TAKE IT LYING DOWN, MOAN AND WHINGE ABOUT HOW THINGS SHOULD BE, BUT CAN NEVER BE, NO, THEY GET UP OFF THEIR COLLECTIVE ARSES AND GET ON WITH IT!!
The funny thing is the very thing you are pretending to fight is the very thing that is keeping you in the luxury you deserve at the moment   and that is the differance between you and I, the system can't control me but it has you eating out of the palm of its not very giving hand

Jack.

No Jack it is you who has shown naivety by thinking you are bigger than the point you were trying to make. Posting your takings on a forum to try and prove me wrong was the height of stupidity and only an idiot would defend those actions.

This has got to be the biggest pile of crap you have come out with yet. They all “take it lying down” the drivers are putting themselves in a state of penury just to keep their jobs. It doesn’t matter how you want to cut it a limited amount of taxis means a limited amount of shifts. With more and more drivers coming through the schools the only one reaping the benefit is the owner. The driver is propping up a trade that is hemorrhaging cash to its competitors on a daily bases. The work goes down but driver’s rentals and plate premiums go up. You have got to be having a laugh. The drivers are servile idiots creating a rod for their own backs. The owners are just a little bit less desperate and only because the driver haven’t got the brains to work out what’s going on and the ones that can are to frightened to look at it. This is the buy a taxi for 40k option and become a different kind of slave, one that is terrified the trade will derestricted. Quite honestly Jack the drivers make me want to puke and the owners are not much better.

I don’t pretend to fight anything other that the illusion created by the system to keep you where you are now, fearing change. There is no way I would pay £300 for a rental nor would I work 72 hours night shift to service it. Not only is it dangerous and unhealthy it’s tantamount to slavery. I could understand if things were improving for all concerned but the fact is, it is not.

I can see you have nuts Jack and I can respect you for what you are doing for your family but don’t pis* down my back and tell me it’s raining. Save that for the numptys that pay £300 rentals or buy £40,000 plates.

The system is serving me well at the moment I am getting the time to do what I want to do and that’s good enough for me. Things will change just as sure as night borrows day and nothing stays the same for ever not even for you Jack. This is my time to take stock and do what I have to do.

Rubbish!!, I make no apologies for posting those earnings on here and indeed a close friend of yours has been doing it for sometime on other forums without critisism from you, yesterday I made a combined earning of just under 500 quid, bring it on mr taxman  The boasting of large earnings by the self employed is a [edited by admin] disease but my post was in response to the "this game is dead" idea.
The height of stupidity is the idea that we can hide our earnings when in actual fact all you do is create a stick for others to beat you with, a fact you are well aware of gary.

I do not recoginise what you are saying here to be fact, most of the guys that are buying in are new briefs or well established who are well aware of the risk. The money you talk of is small beer in a long term business set up. There is a touch of "why cant anyone see" coming in here :?

Again a bit naivety creeping in, we all move on and things change, so what  I dont think any of us want to be doing the same thing for the rest of our days.
I am also pleased you have time to go find yourself and do what a man has to do  I think you have hit the bottom and you should move on, try volantery work or something useful for [edited by admin] sake.

Let me get this right. You are claiming a close friend of mine posted his earnings on a forum without criticism from me. Absolute sh** not in the context given here you are announcing to the world everyone is making telephone numbers. You my old son are barking I would be more surprise if you don’t hear from the tax man. Everyone I know recognises their earnings have gone down over the period of at least the last 3 years while costs have risen along with hours worked just to stand still. There is definitely less people using taxis but paying more inline with tariff increases. If you bring the Ph into the equation their market share has doubled diluting the overall market with bus services taking their share of the pie also.

This is not an answer to my previous post plus you are talkin sh** read it again

The drivers are putting themselves in a state of penury just to keep their jobs. It doesn’t matter how you want to cut it a limited amount of taxis means a limited amount of shifts, FACT. With more and more drivers coming through the schools the only one reaping the benefit is the owner, FACT. The driver is propping up a trade that is hemorrhaging cash to its competitors on a daily bases, FACT. The Ph has doubled, FACT. The work goes down but driver’s rentals and plate premiums go up, FACT. You have got to be having a laugh, OPINION. The drivers are servile idiots creating a rod for their own backs, OPINION. The owners are just a little bit less desperate and only because the driver haven’t got the brains to work out what’s going on and the ones that can are to frightened to look at it, in most cases FACT in some OPINION. This is the buy a taxi for 40k option and become a different kind of slave, one that is terrified the trade will de-restricted, FACT a 40k investment and you don’t care if the trade de-restricts I don’t think so Jack. Quite honestly Jack the drivers make me want to puke and the owners are not much better, FACT

That much we can agree on.

Good one Jack you obviously haven’t heard how the recent court cases went. You have a year before the council get stuffed in the high court.

Oh and there's something else you don't know about, here's a wee bit advice don't go buying any more plates.

BTW keep posting your takings on the site just to prove the trade is not crackered

You know Jack I just can’t believe you are who you say you are. I can understand anyone wanting to protect their vested interest by talking the game up even to the point of muddying the water to keep the drivers unaware but who are you trying to kid. You know as well as I do the owners depend on an over supply of drivers to inflate rentals and plate premiums. For most drivers buying a taxi is not a business investment, more an act of desperation to secure their employment against the equity in their house. It has nothing to do with profits, loses or sustained growth in the market. Without a ready supply of labour all competing for the same job there is no hiked rental or plate premium and you know it.

Spare me the obfuscation if you decide to answer this one

The height of stupidity is the idea that we can hide our earnings when in actual fact all you do is create a stick for others to beat you with, a fact you are well aware of gary.

Let me get this right. You are claiming a close friend of mine posted his earnings on a forum without criticism from me.OH YES HE DID Absolute sh** not in the context given here you are announcing to the world everyone is making telephone numbers. You my old son are barking I would be more surprise if you don’t hear from the tax man.YOUR BARKING IF YOU THINK THAT WORRIES ME Everyone I know recognises their earnings have gone down over the period of at least the last 3 years while costs have risen along with hours worked just to stand still.BOLLOX  There is definitely less people using taxis but paying more inline with tariff increases. If you bring the Ph into the equation their market share has doubled diluting the overall market with bus services taking their share of the pie also.

I do not recoginise what you are saying here to be fact, most of the guys that are buying in are new briefs or well established who are well aware of the risk. The money you talk of is small beer in a long term business set up. There is a touch of "why cant anyone see" coming in here

Quite honestly Jack the drivers make me want to puke and the owners are not much better, FACTBOLLOX

That much we can agree on. THANK [edited by admin]

You missed this one Jack

Well Jack I think it is obvious to anyone you did not come on this forum to debate anything not that you are up to it anyway.

A man contented with his lot and making a fortune like you claim should have nothing to worry about? If you are right and I am wrong you have no point to prove and nothing to attack or defend yourself against. You would be happy in that knowledge, no fear and no need to look for a victim to prove your point. If what you say about me makes you feel better forget about debating any points and just attack me. Anyone with a brain can see the validity of the argument put across and the one that can’t are sad little men like you desperate to hold on to what they have or what they are conditioned to believe.

Face it Jack you can try and slag me of all you want but argue a point, I don’t think so.

Ross- If you feel uncomfortable with the posting of earnings then I will refrain from posting them but the only point I was trying to make was that things wern't as bad as some would like to make out on here.
