In line with fasties tradition, it seems that once again Alan Gladstone may have metamorphosed into another clone. (This guy has more transformations than Dr Who).

The latest wheeze is to plagiarised TDO so that they can attack us. I bet they wish they hadn't barred Taylor and Thomson from their "sewing bee" site. Then they could have attacked us at their leisure.

They might even have known what was going down in the trade - cos we would have told them.

Try this for an exercise in pedantry.

Taxi 1 gives us 2 quotes from another forum.
The first one is by Garry Thomson; still the same rubbish.
The second one from Taylor; still fighting the council; still making a fool of himself and still full of his own self-importance.

It's them who are finished, not the trade. This may have been the first time that we have been attacked so viciously and treacherously from within our own ranks but their insults, lies and devious actions are now laid bare for all to see.

There are others like Eric Shade who have lied and misled drivers as well as the council in pursuit of their selfish ends.

Soon the fightback and exposure of these people will begin.

Scottie

Fightback? You're having a laugh. How can you fightback when you can't get two status quo apologists to agree?

Exposure? Tommy Sheridan comes to mind.

Go to Scottie boy. Bring it on. Let's hope you can galvanise your brain cell before I've dipped into your pocket and relieved you of the bogus 50 grand you don't deserve.

Ah Scottie or should I say Alan or The Doctor maybe, your fight back is just a little too late de-restriction is a done deal. It’s bad enough charging extortionate fares but £50,000 plate values, you're having a laugh the public want you hung-drawn and quartered. If you are who you say then I’m guessing you’ve paid top dollar for a plate and now panic is setting in, well nae luck Scottie it’s all over bar the shouting and everyone knows it.

Thanx Scott, I’ll reply to it.

Garry, Just for info, the forum has recently been changed to use another type of board and whilst I am involved in setting it up and maintaining it, I have (and want) nothing to do with the general day to day running of it.

As part of the database transfer, some emails got sent out automatically, so my apologies if they annoyed you!!

Against my advice, Scott wants to start with a near clean slate and so, if you want, you can post. If you don’t want anything further to do with the forum then let either Scott or me know and you will be removed from the database.

As for your view of the forum, as usual, I find your opinion worthless, biased and puerile, but then I admit to the odd mistake unlike you who never lets the truth get in the way of your version of Animal Farm!!

Hope you rejoin the ranks of the working class soon; I know how hard it can be on a low income.

Kind regards

Alan G

I think they want us back Jim but then again what would be the point Scottie is just another owner getting ready to lose £50,000 big ones. Keep your eye on the press Scottie.

Scottie on fasties Wrote, again:

After all that has been inflicted on us, surely by now there must be someone, somewhere prepared to start a legitimate organisation to look after the interests of taxi drivers in general rather than themselves in particular?
An organisation that will seek to inform us and keep us informed of those matters that the current representation keep to themselves, as if the discussions were the sole province of some secret society.

 Post subject: Paranoia

Isn't it kinda amusing just how paranoid these people are becoming.

Seems Scottie, like other Gladstone incarnations, is expanding the list of conspirators who are doing him down, "destroying" the trade.

Seems Eric Shade has been drawn in as a conspirator. Just because he had the temerity to want a choice of vehicles. Note, he wasn't inflicting his views on others, he merely wanted his own choice. Scottie is paranoid.

Taylor and Thomson are long held to be conspirators. Why? Because we have the temerity to see the injustice in the trade where the clique in the cartel have been allowed by servile sheep to fashion the trade in their own interest, and at the expense of drivers and customers.

You know, I don't blame them for looking after their own interests. That's their preorogative. Just as ours is to bring about de-restriction and a fair market for those who work in taxis and are carried by them as customers.

Finally, I doubt whether the invitation to post again on fasties was extended to me. Too cerebral for them. Too hard hitting. Too much truth and justice for them. They can't handle objectivity so they just shout it down. Who would reasonably want to go down that route again. By allowing it to happen, didn't Gladstone just show the site to be useless and himself as a disgrace as an administrator?

So, the site has been changed. Another wasted effort.

Cos, the only real debate about the state of our trade is on TDO - the very site fasties refuses to acknowledge because it's "English" and not relevant to Edinburgh.

Sounds like paranoid racism to me. And stupid. Cos, TDO is about the taxi trade, and taxi drivers.

Isn't this equally applicable wherever a cabbie is plying for hire?

It was tried before. And the fasties crew torpedoed it.

Of course, they didn't want to take part and shape the organisation. They just criticised it to destruction. And, stood aside and watched as it was allowed to serve the political interests of a single individual. And didn't even have the decency to complain when its funds were improperly disbursed - they didn't even query that the funds weren't misappropriate by the guy who took the single decision to close the organisation down - in contravention of its constitution.

Is this the type of organisation Scottie wants to be established? No chance.

With characters like this in the trade, it's everyman for himself.

Care to write your "cheque" for £50K now Scottie? Then I suggest you use it to light your next BBQ and watch years of cartel selfishness go up in smoke.

Have to say, it's not looking too good for the trade. Too many part-timers at the weekends, no protection from the licensing department (Festival passing themselves off as "cabs"), tuk-tuks, rickshaws, stretch limos, E7s. At the same time p*sspoor representation at council meetings, inaccurate reporting in the papers going unchallenged, Eric Shade taking the pesh out of the system.

It's a matter of time till the council just say "this is such a mess we'd be better off with a free for all". The Tories are already promising that. Let's face it we're practically in a Dublin situation as it is. Few of us are making much money Monday to Thursday, then come the weekend the streets are flooded with guys who are only working for pin money.

Reality at last, well said Trinity_mirror only it's the Tories and the Lib Dems .

Tough luck Scottie its too little too late     de-restriction here we come hope you paid pots for your plate Scottie the drivers are keeping this little scam going no longer.    50 big ones down the pan

Where abouts can I find the Tory plans for a free for all?

I doubt any party will be able to call for a free for all with transport policy, unless we are no longer in the European Union all the Political parties will have to meet the air quality standards and all the rest of the directives coming from Brussels, then theres the Local Transport Strategy and the Strategic environmental assessments etc, all these things will come into play sooner or later, whether we like it or not!

That's it Jim we're done for Stu is on the case, the £50,000 false plate values will soon disappear into thin air and so will the ph, rickshaws, tuk-tuks, Limos, buses and the pubic demand for more taxis and lower tarrifs.

No de-restriction after all

After a period of adjustment, I reckon we'd win through.

More questions jim

How long would the period of adjustment be, weeks, months, years ?

What price would taxi drivers pay during the period of adjustment ?

Why only reckon, why not guarantee we'd win through ?

Still waiting on the answers jim.

I'm not shi**ing you Sussex £50,000 you would hardly believe it.

When the guy I was driving for sold out it worked out to £46,000 if you take into account the buyer paying off the existing HP on the vehicle. You could have bought the same taxi about 6 grand cheaper but Donny would not sell without the buyer clearing the finance.

A mate of mine phone up ITS to confirm what he could expect to pay he was told he would be lucky to pay less than 50k, a few weeks later the word was out one sold for over 50K.

50K being a conservative estimate.

Cant help but feel you might be as well putting these posts on the fastblacks site, it gets a bit boring having to keep going from one to the other.

And what is your take on the LTS? do you have one, does Jasbar, I could see that having a bigger affect on the fortunes of the Taxi trade than anything else.

I cant help but notice that yourself and Jasbar seem to just ignore anything you see as an irrelevance, now remember guys dont fall of the edge of the earth.

Anyway Skull how do you know I am not in favour of the removal of the Limit on plates?

But I am looking for answers to fundamental questions that have so far been ignored or remain unanswered, so Jasbar do you intend to respond to the questions that Ross asked, probably not because the truth is nobody really knows do they?
