HEADLINE: DADDY BUYS THE LADY BOYS; DEAL ALLOTS SARAH TO SEE EVERY SHOW

BYLINE: By Ian Dow

STARSTRUCK Sarah Coutts loves the Lady Boys of Bangkok so much that her daddy bought them for her.

Sarah, 15, has seen the transvestite Thai dancers perform more than 100 times.

Now her dad David, a director of an Edinburgh taxi firm, has agreed a pounds 50,000 deal to sponsor the troupe at this year's Festival Fringe, to make sure his daughter has the best seats for every one of their performances.

Sarah, of Monifieth, near Dundee, said yesterday: "It was a really big surprise when dad told me what he did. I couldn't believe he'd bought the show for me.

"I loved the Lady Boys from the moment I saw them. It was the music and the costumes and the way everyone looked as if they were having a really good time.

"That was four years ago and I've been to see them 112 times since."

David, 47, made the deal for his company, Festival City Cabs. He said: "When I heard the Lady Boys were looking for sponsorship this year, I couldn't refuse the chance to get Sarah tickets for her and her friends."

The Lady Boys are set to play a sold-out run of shows at The Meadows between July 30 and September 2.

Has it ever occurred to you that if the Hacks are so good at their job there would be no Ph and certainly less than the 500 increase seen in recent years?

The fact is the Ph is a business in the true sense of the word. They compete and expand into your market without asking any-one's permission.

This was a great publicity stunt for the affluent Mr. Couts and probably worth every penny.

Ross you are a numpty  and you don't think the Ph are taking your work

Can't believe you read the Daily Ranger JD.

Generally anyone with an IQ greater than their shoe size avoids it.

I can only assume you did so in a professional capacity.

lol I must confess I haven't had the pleasure of reading the Ranger. The news feed related to a Taxi story so I thought it might be of interest to some?

Regards
