They wanted to do this in London but Licensing stated it was illegal so it did not happen.

We have an intercom at one of our part time offices, when its closed pressing the button contacts a base op in another office who takes the booking. very similar idea. But these days of the mobile phone you can book one anywhere, the only difference is the punter is a pound down so he's more likely to wait for the car.
Nothing to stop a firm situating one in a kebab/pizza/burger bar (even one situated on a rank) :shock:

They would.
They should stick to the licencing side of things and not the law as they THINK the know it.
