Before I'm banned again from this forum.

Gateshead Council temporarily suspended the issuance of Hackney Carriage Vehicle Licenses on Tuesday 5th September 2006.

A victory for commonsense.

I have no idea to what you are implying Mr Thumb.

When everything is completed the people who will see the real benefit will be the people who should the most, and that's the people of Gateshead.

To many people try to implement changes that are in their own best interest and attempt to justify it by questioning the fairness of the council policy.

The only people who matter, the only people who should be considered are taxi customers and the implementation of this suspension has been made in order to ensure that the councils policies are properly reviewed to ensure they are in the best interest of the people of Gateshead.

Its not a question of justification its a question of honesty, commonsense and a willingness to accept certain responsibilities which have been neglected from all concerned parties.

We are entering a period of change, a period which will benefit everyone involved with providing or using Hackney Carriage services in Gateshead.

As usual I tend to agree with you on the rhetoric, but not on the means to the desired ends.

But congratulations on getting some movement on the QC issue.

However, the restricted numbers will have to go. :lol:
