I had the pleasure to join in conversation with a Cambridge cab driver this afternoon. His vehicle was a shiny new Vito with lots of wheelchair space in the back. I was disappointed that he couldn't speak a word of English and I am not exaggerating when I say that.

It therefore came as a complete surprise when I asked him what business was like in Cambridge and he answered "vely good", taxi is making plenty money. So it appeared that although he couldn't speak a word of English, at least he could understand some of it.

I noticed on his fare chart, which he had stuck on his side window that the soiling charge was 80 pounds, I thought to myself, that must be one of the highest in the country.

Anyway, he was happy with his lot in Cambridge and it just goes to show that not being able to speak English is no barrier to making a "vely good living". lol

Regards

JD

Yea it's about time they went up here in Warrington. But the Fouling charge needs doubling £30 at 2am when, if it's a bad one, can put you off the road for 2hrs!!
