Another classic display from the 'licensed' Minicab industry.

Cabbie guilty of showing off his tip to frightened nurse
A Croydon cabbie who whipped out his penis in front of a female passenger has been found guilty of exposure.

David Brookes, of Station Road, Kenley, will be sentenced next month after being found guilty at Croydon Crown Court last Friday.

The court heard how Brookes exposed himself on July 13 in front of a 39-year-old nurse.

continued...
She met up with her boyfriend in Croydon for a couple of drinks and afterwards called a minicab to take her home.

When the car arrived she sat in the front passenger seat next to 47-year-old Brookes.

The psychiatric nurse said: "He asked me what I did for a living and I said I was a nurse. He started talking about his wife and his marital difficulties. His wife didn't understand him, and she wouldn't have sex."

Brookes who denied the charges was then said to have revealed how he regularly masturbated while listening to x-rated chat-lines.

The nurse told the hearing: "I tried to change the subject. He said he phoned chat-lines while masturbating. I felt very uncomfortable and I decided to get out.

"I was getting my money from my bag and I saw he had his penis out. It was erect. I was shaken and frightened. He had pulled up at a roundabout and I got out, giving him three £5 notes."

Brookes was then said to have said "It's been nice chatting to you. We can keep this conversation to ourselves," while still holding his penis in his hand.

The victim said she did not go straight home because she did not want Brookes knowing where she lived.

Brookes denied exposing himself to the female customer but did admit to speaking to the victim about his marriage problems.

But he said he did so because she told him she was a lawyer and he was looking for legal advice. He also denied ever saying he masturbated while listening to chat-lines.

Judge Kennet Macrae ordered Brookes to return to Croydon Crown Court for sentencing on March 10 and ordered he not partake in any mini-cabbing before sentencing.

He was granted bail.

You seemed to have overlooked this one Terry.

I'd welcome your expert opinion on it, and what the GMB would have done?

Can't speak for Terry but clearly this mush is a scumbag of the highest order and the trade is well rid of his like.

Of course if the LTDA had their way, then scum like him would be able to carry on mini-cabbing once their sentence was over.

Go on Sussex, give me your theory on why the LTDA would want a sex offender back behind the wheel?

What inch have you stretched to a mile this time?

I would hope they wouldn't, but their actions in slowing down the licensing of PH in London allowed sex offenders free-reign.

Things clearly still aint right, but the likes of the LTDA don't help.

1he pleaded not guilty.
2did he have previous?
3Yesterday a woman in London was imprisoned for making false rape ALLEGATIONS
4So was he guilty?
5Will he appeal and new evidence emerge?
6if he had pleaded guilty,we would expect him to be barred from the industry for life!
7We would look to expel from the union ANYONE admitting such behaviour.
8seeing he was pleading not guilty we would have represented him had he been a member. Was he fitted up?????????????????

You still haven't answered your wild theory how the LTDA would allow him to get back behind the wheel.

Your connection to the licensing regime, and standards of licensing that was mooted by the LTDA several years ago, is pizz poor.

I expect that sort of tosh from Terry.

The theory goes like this.

The LTDA didn't want PH being licensed.

The scumbag can't now legally drive a licensed vehicle, and gain work via a licensed operator.

But if the LTDA succeeded in stopping PH being licensed, then this chap could carry on getting work from a minicab firm.

So your allusion that the LTDA would allow a convicted perv such as masterbation man to get behind the wheel was stretching it, accompanied by your spin on the matter?

I seem to remember a recent thread where we all accepted the LTDA wanted the Minicab industry to be licensed to the same standard as the real London Taxi's, so that kinda fly's in the face of your theory somewhat? :-|

If you wanted me to say that, then you only had to ask. But you asked me what was theory was.

So the LTDA didn't mind the licensing of minicabs as long as they became taxis. ](*,)
