CABBIE, 40, CHARGED WITH MURDER OF PROSTITUTE IN THAILAND

THIS is the dramatic moment an Irish cabbie was arrested yesterday over the brutal murder of a young Thai prostitute.

Denis Leahy, 40, could face death by lethal injection after the 24-year-old victim's butchered body was found in a flat in the sex tourist city of Pattaya.

Her hands were tied behind her back and she had been stabbed 20 times.

The Dubliner was caught by police who believed he was fleeing to the Cambodian border. He was arrested after falling asleep in a taxi. The driver became suspicious of his injuries and called police.

Officers pounced when the car pulled into a petrol station.

Leahy, who has a Thai common-law wife, was taken back to Pattaya and charged with murder.
