In all fairness I could have done the exemption lark, as could have 150,000 other PH chaps.

But we didn't. :?

I agree totally but its a fact of life that people will exploit loopholes

Its actually quite sad that people are advised on loopholes

Absolutely agree 100% and to be honest i have a foot in both camps here as i have been both a limo op and a taxi driver. I just like to see a fair playing field for both !

Isn't the fairest playing field one where the public are assured the driver and proprietor are correctly licensed, vetted and checked?

What worries the hell out of me is that LA's find its licensees easy targets, where those that operate outside licensing are seemingly immune.

Look chaps my statement was not about the rights or wrongs of unlicensed vehicles operating a public service.

Quite obviously the public need to be assured of safe travel and so anyone operating for hire and reward needs to be licensed.

What I was pointing out, was the fact that Sussex and the TDO clan, are arguing FOR yet another restriction ................ and again they are arguing for it because it suits them.

For a "group" of people so opposed to restrictions I find it unbelievable that they are arguing for such a restriction of trade.

Now there are some, of which I am one, who would argue that restrictions allow a better service ................ the TDO clan deny this, stating quite clearly that the public should choose what methods of transport they use and how available they should be.

This argument shows the shortsighted attitude of the TDO clan ........................ you are either for restrictions within the trade or against them ........................ I say restrict everything, manage it properly and deliver the best possible service to the public.

Get the right drivers driving the right number of vehicles.

I did actually see where you were coming from, and your support for the repeal of section 75 (1) (b) was obviously vital  just some others would prefer to see where your coming from but choose to / prefer to see otherwise

The argument is not about whether these vehicles should or shouldn't be licensed ................... because quite clearly they should be.

The argument is about the TDO clan supporting a restriction ........... when they claim the public should have a choice they quite obviously mean a choice which suits them.

The aim should always be "in the best interest of the public" and not "in the best interest of somebody who doesn't get his own way".

I see the double standards within this argument .............. as will others.

If some people can't see the difference between a standards restriction, and a numbers restriction, then that only confirms they haven't got a f***ing clue about the taxi/PH trade. ](*,)

Not that I needed any such confirmation.

Well its nice to see confirmation that you agree with restrictions when it suits you, or on the grounds that suit you ......................... but oppose them when they don't.

I don't think you know fack all about the taxi trade Sussex .............. just that you know whats best for you.
