A hackney carriage driver licensed in Durham received a private booking on his mobile phone while driving through South Tyneside, the booking was to pick up a passenger in Newcastle and take them to Brighton.

Three questioned are posed.

1. Did the driver break any licensing laws under current legislation?
2. If so which laws did he break?
3. And in which of the four licensing authorities mentioned above did these licensing breaches take place?

Heres another one.

A private hire driver licensed in Durham was given a job from his home base also in Durham while he was driving through South Tyneside. He also had to pick up a passenger in Newcastle and take them to Brighton.

The same three questions are posed.

1. Did the driver break any licensing laws under current legislation?
2. If so which laws did he break?
3. And in which of the four licensing authorities mentioned above did these licensing breaches take place?

1. IMO he didn't breach any current laws.
2. May I refer you to my previous answer.
3. If he was deemed to have broken any laws, it will have been in the licensing district of South Tyneside.
