It would appear that the double standards within york station taxis is alive and well, people have been refused permits for being verbally abusive to their committee, yet two of their shareholders came to blows recently in front of a full rank of waiting passengers and nothing has been done, if this had been cover car drivers they would have been off straight away.I accused them of nepotism the other day but they did not know what I meant, what they need is a woman in charge.
Well Miss Take you don't know the history of York stn taxis, many years ago or rather not long ago a woman was in charge along with the chairman, she ran the taxi business, a few grand went missing over a period of time, the monies did go missing but in the end no proof, was it a clerical error, we shall never know, the stn taxi committee sacked the woman in question, she in turn took it to a tribunal and won large damages against said stn taxis, whereas all 38 shareholders had to cough up something like 500 quid each to pay her
Double standards did not exist a few years ago, as they do now, how many shareholders do you now see wearing a tie [as per permit rules] but the shop floor drivers get pulled if they don't
The fight at the taxi rank was conducted by 2 shareholders something to do with whose knocking off the girl in the taxi office, led to believe, or was that ones wife
now who's borrowed a few grand out of the pot [the drivers credits]now for his own use, and he ain't committee shareholder or even a driver
The one and only best ex chairman of stn taxis is still live and active as a taxi driver but albiet banned from the stn rank, and now turned into a loner who keeps himself to himself, at least he was fair with all shareholders and independant drivers when he ran it as a taxi business, those days have gone
