can anyone help me source good quality pics of old taxis whether from the early london ones to elsewhere nationally...?

was thinking of creating a pic library of cars from right back up to present day

even more recent ones or unusual from abroad...?

It was a rule going back to the days when Taxi's (Growlers) were Horse drawn.

Despite the urban myth that still does the rounds (like peeing on the rear O/S wheel) all these laws have been rescinded when TFL took over the administration of the Taxi trade form the Police in 2000.
