I'm not advocating unity of the graveyard or that of the horse and rider. We really do all have to start standing up for ourselves if we are going to unite to get a better deal.

All together now "her majesty she do say"

I think I might be more of a target for the ones that the British state plant.

Never agreed with individual terrorism even less state terrorism.

Not that I agree with, or would in any way shape manner or form agree with parading around another man's country armed to the teeth pushing my weight about.

I would like to see Catholic and Protestant workers unite against those who exploit all of us be they adorned in the tricolour or the butchers apron.

Reds the colour of my flag and I lost two cdes to the rah at the height of the troubles.

I still think they have more right to their own country than the bully boys over here who sent young men to their deaths on all sides so as they could maintain economic and military control.

Terry , I think in your younger days you must have been a hippy, and it would seem that you are still enjoying your hubbly bubbly pipe. I am led to believe that it is perfectly legal for you to smoke it at home. and it does explain your posts... never mind I am sure you are perfectly happy in your own Little World.. love..mrT..

Drivers should have a checkable past of note, but we are where we are, and I would have thought this trade would have a better chance of changing things with all the unions and association fighting the same battle, not one another.

Sussex. I am more than confident that this year a great deal of associations and unions will be making endeavours to work together. fortunately it will be the ones that see the future, and not the imbecile who lives in the past.

I have it on good authority that the decision to put meters in Minicabs is outside the control of your mate Ken. It's down to the Government who would have to change the act. The Government opposed to Livingstone or the GLA formulated the LPH act.

Perhaps there might be scope to swiftly introduce meters by way of the following section? Worth exploring if you're batting for London private hire.
.............................................................

Miscellaneous and supplementary

Regulations.

32. - (1) The Secretary of State may make regulations for any purpose for which regulations may be made under this Act or for prescribing anything which falls to be prescribed under any provision of this Act.

(2) Regulations under this Act may-

(a) make different provision for different cases;

(b) provide for exemptions from any provision of the regulations; and

(c) contain incidental, consequential, transitional and supplemental provision.

(3) Any power to make regulations conferred by this Act is exercisable by statutory instrument which shall be subject to annulment in pursuance of a resolution of either House of Parliament.

Divide and rule is a tactic our bosses have used all around the world, you only have to look at Britains old colonies from the days of imperial plunder. Turk v Greek in Cyprus, India and Pakistan and Catholic v Protestant in the oldest colony of all the island on Ireland.

So does this mean taxi drivers should be able to speak, read and write in English then ](*,)

PS Knowledge of the law was more relevant in this instance
