Weeeeee problem for the boys at cooncil HQ.

Council Wigglesworth is a man of the cloth, the same goes for our new cooncil leader, Cllr Aitken. Somehow I just can't see Wiggy lying under oath?

Regulatory meeting 7th October 2005. The bold Wigglesworth in front of witnesses said " I'm going to go on record and say that Jacobs is flawed" I know because I represented drivers and their plate applications on that day. I pointed to the factually incorrect data contained in the Jacobs survey, as well as all the demand indicators Jacobs left out (thanks to JD). The overwhelming evidence compelled Wigglesworth to break ranks, hence his statement. They should have taken steps to re-investigate Jacobs before deciding to deny licence applications. They didn't. Not only that they omitted Cllr Wigglesworths statement from the minutes.

The council decision must based on correct material fact.

They must exercise their discretion in a reasonable manner, in accordance with natural justice.

We've waited over a year to stick it right up them. 'timing is everything' as they say.

Murphy's Law states "what can go wrong will go wrong" nae luck Wiggy.. £300,00 spent on Taxi-buses and a proposed 592 million on a new tram system. Meanwhile tens of thousands of pounds are spent in court fighting to deny taxi driver's their licence plates. I don't think so somehow.

BTW Jacobs is out of date anyway. This time round it will be cooncillors in the witness box and not corporate services drawing our fire.

Could this be why they would not appear on talk radio?

Could it be that they're no the only ones with a wee problem. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

From the looks of the documents lodged at companies house either JT is so incompetent that he cannae fill in a form, OR he's changed his name to "Barclay James" :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :? :?

Is he so ashamed of the word Taylor that he missed it off and reversed his two forenames on the incorporation documents of his LLP, or have i just exposed another branch of government incompetence :P :P :P :P :P :P :P :P

Also Jasbar why the LLP route - no belief that you cannot fail to win, that you ring fence your assets away from "666maxblack"

And as for the name - what a pathetic attempt at humour or intimidation or both

Which is why people should attend council meetings over issues that effect them.

Exactly!

To be fair on Cllr Wigglesworth, I think he stepped in as Chairman to sort things out. This man of the cloth looked totally embarrassed when I kicked them all over Cooncil HQ. I really don't think he knew what was going on but I bet he does now.

The councils strategy is to be seen to act reasonably. While corporate services draw fire away from the elected politicians. They also want to exhaust you financially by drawing you into a protracted court case while shielding the politicians from what's really going on. Unfortunately this is where 'Murphy's Law' comes in.

They obviously relish a war of attrition, to that of one of maneuver. The latter putting councillors in the witness box under oath. Lots of embarrising quetions to answer in front of the press.

This is an interesting game, with Jacobs being nothing more than a flawed piece of historical data.

How do you answer that one in court while claiming you acted in good faith?

I think they are in deep doo doo

BTW we have another application waiting to go in at the appropriate time.
We intend to keep them in court for ever if need be

As I said before, I applied for the licence knowing full well that the council's policy is to refuse on the basis of no significant unmet demand, supported by Jacob's.

This means the app should only go one way. And that's into court, before a Sheriff, when not only the facts of the flawed Jacob's is material, but the way the council has administered matters is also highly relevant.

Meanwhile a formal complaint about the way the council conducts the Regulatory Committee meetings and the conveniently poor minuting of them has been lodged.

Let's remember that the deeper we dig into council conduct the more despicable we discover that behaviour to be. I suspect we're heading very quickly to the point where the only recourse to justice will be a public enquiry and the accountability of elected and unelected officials through resignation.

Under the Act the licence application needs to be considered within three months and granted or refused in six.

We should remember our experiene with the press and talk radio, and also that there is an election looming in May.

Anyway, on the face of it my application should be heard by the Regulatory Committee by the end of February. Then its over to the courts.

:D
