There's an interesting situation down in Crawley which came to light through a post in the new licensing legislation clinic run by Taxi Today magazine.

It certainly surprised me to hear that a Person in Crawley is making provision for the hire of Private hire vehicles licensed by Mole Valley. The premises where provision is being made is in Crawley but the vehicles and drivers being used are based in Mole Valley.

The person operating the vehicles has two operator licenses, one issued by Crawley for premises in Crawley and one issued by Mole Valley also for premises in Crawley. lol I had to laff at this situation after all that has been said on Taxi Driver Online.

At this stage of the game it would be unwise to criticise the actions of Crawley licensing department for allowing this to happen because there is more to this story than meets the eye. All I can say is that the licensing department is aware of the situation and they haven't closed the book on this problem.

It does however make for interesting debate, considering we should all be experts on the matter by now? lol

Regards

JD

Surely Crawley Council have done nothing wrong. A person has applied for a Crawley operate license to operate out of a Crawley office.

The wallys are Mole Valley who have given someone an operators license who's not operating in Mole Valley. :?

Crawley have done nothing wrong. The culprits are Mole Valley but it is within Crawleys hands to remedy the situation by taking the operator to court.
