remember if you license yourself as an operator, the name that you register the company in is up to you, it could be Mr Ford 777

Yep, but the whole point, is to make it so my car doesnt stand out , being parked up all day in the middle of town.

And to wipe the smug smirk of someone little hitlers face.

I think the licensing officer is taking the approach that once the vehicle is Licence as a private hire vehicle, it is always a private hire vehicle so therefore should be attached to a radio company, there is a case on this is the not JD.

While its licence is in force that is

I'm not on a system at the moment so i cant display door signs.
But the reason i havent suspended my plate is, if i want to work for instance on saturday night, i can ring an operator and be on the road in 1/2 hour, but if my licence is suspended i cant, so surely this is against my right to work and earn a living as a self employed person?

this is the reason why he most probably wants your vehicle signed ,how on earth can you ring a operator on a sat night and say i want some work tonight ill be out in 1/2 an hour ,1st of all you will need it signed for the company your going to work for ,2nd there regular drivers will be well chuffed with you takeing there work when you feel like it ,3rd wouldnt it just be has easy to sort out whos system your going to work have there name on your vehicle and come to some arrangment regarding payment for the days worked ,just a thought

Easy.
If i'm goin to work, it'll be with the same company, just phone the night manager, get signed on and pay what they're due when i see the owner. Ive been building new offices for them for the last few months, it really wouldnt be a problem.
Regarding the operators doorsigns, thats the point, i want to park without the signs so i dont get broken into.

Ive complied today, to avoid the confrontation that was looming. I dont want to because i think the rules are open to different interpritations depending on which side of the fence you sit, but i'm so busy at the moment i haven't got time to argue the toss.
