It's simply supply and demand after all. How about getting on with your job? And stop worrying about people who do the same job better than you....

If a driver doesn't want to pick the scum off the streets at peak times, and wants to hold out for a better offer - from someone who doesn't want to wait with the scum in the scrum- so what?

I pay more to jump the queue every-time. I would be mighty pi**ed off is someone refused to take more cash and told me to wait.

You lot need to get a life - as I've said before - money talks bus*** walks.

The only thing I see here, is a lot of sanctimonious bullsh** from driver's not too good at picking Cherry's - or members of the public not wanting to put their hand in their pockets for a premium service - wake-up and smell the coffee, this is what a free market is all about.

Here speaks the man who wants to cap plate numbers in Carlisle.

I wonder why?

Could it be Wayne wants lots of driver's for fewer vehicles, enabling him to hike rentals a plate premiums?

How many vehicles and plates does your family have Wayne? :-#

How much would your plates be worth at 50k a pop? :-#

It's all for the good of the trade now isn't it Wayne? :-#

You can fool some of the people... Wayne

You would deny me and others like me - the opportunity to pay more for a better service - would you Wayne?

Quite Novel from a chap who seems to think cab drivers should urinate in public, cherry pick, who has sold plates in the past and now wants more & has beaten up colleagues.

Not like you to avoid answering the questions Wayne. Some would think you had something to hide?

Your pretence perhaps?

You've changed your tactics Wayne. You usually hide behind humour rather than exaggeration, never mind, whatever works in a crisis.

What crisis?......have you washed your hands?

Never thought you'd condone the public being ripped off by cherrypickers, still whatever works in a crisis.

How is paying more for a better service ripping someone off?

I pay more all the time and what's more, I expect to pay more, feck waiting for a taxi. What's your problem it's my money just like it is theirs. I don't see anyone dipping their pockets? If they don't want to pay they can wait for some Pratt wanting to work for less. I don't tell you what you can pay.

I don't have the problem, you do.

Cherry picking isnt paying for a better service, its ripping people off.

I do have a problem with it....it gives the trade a bad reputation.

I'm more concerned about drivers who overcharge rather than someone hanging around to negotiate a lucratice fare. Time and time again in this town we hear of Taxi drivers and private hire drivers ripping people of by overcharging. for instance not putting the meter on and charging 20 pounds for a 10 pound fare. At least the punter knows what they are getting when they negotiate a fare with a so called cherry picker.

I assume your grievence with cherry pickers centers on overcharging within the controlled district because anything outside the controlled district has nothing whatsoever to do with the council.

Regards

JD

You have to ask yourself why it is that the majority of people who are complaining about cherry- pickers are Liverpool City cab drivers, the reason they're complaining is that they do not like being classed in the same mould, holding the general public to ransom sometimes by as much as three times the normal fare is a disgrace. they want it stopped, the public want it stopped, no matter what Skull says nobody likes being ripped off. and the more it happens the more work they will lose, eusasmiles.zip

I assume you are referring to hires inside the controlled district? Unless you are advocating a change in legislation. I'm sure all these Airport workers will be chuffed at that.

Terry you are such a pillock, you seem to think that no one but you is capable. You also seem to have difficulty in reading which is not surprising considering you have got a lot of growing up to do. If you are going to quote people have the good grace to quote the truth, and do it constructively.

My other thoughts regarding your lack of professionlism, is basically that this cannot be happening, it is so untrue. But! I switched into overdrive when I realised that you must be employed by the government to drive away members and potential members. This tactic of yours and your bad behaviour is designed to keep away the millions of potential members in case they change their minds.

You have been rumbled, but I must say it is working.

I cannot wait for the next episode of "The rantings of Terry"

I'll tell you what's strange about this debate - 'cherry-pickers' who are offered money willingly from a customer are ripping people off :? - the customer has a choice, but no choice, according to CC and Mr. T. :? But as I've stated before: I don't wait I just pay whatever it takes to get a cab. But the driver in accepting my money is ripping me off, why, because I am prepared to pay more for a premium service :?

Here's a simple solution. If you don't want to pay more for a premium service then wait in the queue, problem solved.

As for the rest of you who don't want to cherry-pick, why not mind your own business. '
