I think the hackney trade in most areas are always obliging if one area needs a hand out, personally I would much rather see a Merseyside Licence, to me it would be relatively simple, the five areas charge the same rate, they could pick up whilst travelling through each area when flaged, but would only be allowed to sit on their own stands in their own areas.... I think drivers would earn a great deal more money. Merseyside Sefton,. Merseyside Liverpool.

Would the cab drivers in Liverpool agree to such a request, if ever it was made legal?

And what about the 'cherry-pickers'? :D

It would be a council decision not a drivers decision, you never know, A better free moving system could well generate more work, and maybe the Issue of more plates

Wouldn't ness need an issue of restricted plates, just a load from de-limit Wirral. Then those drivers could cruise Liverpool to help out their friends.

well to be honest it one was of parklanes in house journo's who spoke to George,
Paul recorded the conversation and then typed it up.
George was sent a copy to ensure its accuracy and when he okayed it, it went in....!

in hindsight i should of done it myself...!

I must admit there would appear to be some merit in that but I doubt if Liverpool drivers would see it that way?

It's just legalising the old principle that a good Taxi Driver works where he falls

lol the sentiments might be fine but reality is a different kettle of fish. I prefer to concentrate on what is acheivable rather than what is beyond ones reach.

But i'm a realist and theres not many of us left in the Taxi trade? lol
