Because they are only concerned with one issue.

Of course, it shouldn't be forgotten that their last website only arose to address the OFT's investigation. Although the site is now down, its sole purpose was patently obvious from the site's address:

http://www.nodereg.com/

Of course, in the interests of democracy and freedom of expression this address is still on our links page, but when I get a minute I'll update it to the new one :D

On the broader issue it's worth recalling that someone called Wayne Casey made the point at around the time of OFT that the likes of the NTTG are only interested in the restricted numbers issue, and when it's put to bed (or at least perceived to be) then these people disappear back into their "sleepy hollows". Of course, the appearance of this latest website with only the response to the NCC on it entirely vindicates Mr Casey's view.

Well said that man =D> :D

This is what the legend Mr Cummings thinks.{ quote }

The NTTG is an organisation which was
formed in the wake of the OFT report and
the sole agenda appears to be against
delimitation, and while there is nothing
wrong in a single issue party, the fact that
the NTTG is run primarily by multi-owners
makes it easy to question the motives of a
sizable percentage of the members. The
proponents of delimitation (of which I am
certainly NOT) could point out that an
individual who has 40 cabs for instance,
and the ‘plates’ are allegedly fetching 50k
on the open market, is more concerned
with protecting their investment than the
pros and cons of delimitation. In turn, it
undermines the stance taken by the
T&GWU and the NTA that delimitation has
a negative effect on the trade.
I hope this sets the record straight.

Well said Mr Cummings . I wonder if he has changed his mined :?:  regards streetcars.

I have been working in Mid Sussex for nine years and in that time fares have increased by almosed 100% YET TAKINGS ARE ABOUT THE SAME!
The reason for this is simple, private hire licences in the area have doubled!
This means that customers previously serviced by companies operating Hackney Carriages are now using private hire vehicles......remember, every job taken by p/h puts another Hackney in front of us on the rank!
I can live with this, after all I still have my independance.....or do I?
Everyone sees a Taxi as an opportunity to make money because these Taxi drivers are minting it!
If only it were true eh!
Taking into consideration our costs we actually end up with about 50% profit or about £5.80 per hour. Compare that to the licensing officers salary!
When will all these wonderfull people who know so much about our industry, yet have never driven a Taxi, come to realise just how it really works!
Better still, why can't they all just BUGGER OFF and leave us to get on with what we know best?
In Mid Sussex we are lucky to have fought off de-limitation so far,
our, and the trades , next battle is the disability discrimination act, DDA.
Unless you really want to be forced into driving a london type or van conversion taxi, please sign my petition on http://petition.pm.gov.uk/wheelchairtaxis/
It would also be productive to campaigne for restrictios on P/H numbers and their ability to operate miles from their licensing area.
Any ideas?????

Improve the standards of your vehicles and your drivers.

DSA tests, harder knowledge, newer vehicles, bin the sheds.

But the one thing you will not sort is restricting PH number.

Why do you think that is?

Why are your old customers now using PH? :?
