Reply: You are fraudsters calling this site "Taxi Driver" online its a PH promotion site.

Remind me, what is wrong with promoting PH? :?

Reply: Nothing as long as it is shown as such and not done under the pretext of being a Taxi Forum.

If the Home Office class PH as taxis, then who are the folks behind TDO to question them.

Still I will make you a promise and do my best to make far more PH drivers become taxi drivers.

T. , you laughed at Sussex and called him a "luddite" but as he is the progressive one and you are the one who wishes to remain in the past, the term is more appropriately applied to yourself.

However I do wonder at the number of posts from our south coast friend

Also you say that the public ask for a Taxi on the phone. That is because it is used as a general term by the public....you don't hear:
"I should like to book the services of a hackney carriage to convey me to the local hostelry".

You really should realise that there is far more to unite us than to divide us and if we were all to act together we could achieve far more. Sure we compete commercially but so do Airlines but it doesn't stop them cooperating on many important safety or regulation issues etc.

But I thought your comment about TESCO TAXIS was very good

Reply: WOW there is someone who can spot a gem amongst the dross. I dont want to keep things the same (per Ludite). I want the trade to be progressive, modernised etc, "Sussex" are the Ludites they dont want to change things they want the system to stay the same, they just want to join the club for nothing. Like every Dereg campaigner they jump ship to the other side the minute they get their hands on a plate.
As for Airlines good example(not) the routes and access to major airports is strictly controlled by international treaties to protect national carriers. Ask Branson about the BA dirty tricks, he used up £millions to fight them, ask Freddie Laker about his "free-market" experience or Ryan Air ask them why they fly to airports 40 miles from the cities, it aint to give taxis more work. Taxis vs PH in the sky. When the big guns focus on our trade, will Sussex and his chums claim a victory for free trade as they decide whether to sign on the dole or work for TAXIS ARE US. The current system works, it can be improved, but Dereg is not working in the areas that have it, the services to the public are no better, drivers are no better off, the only people who gain are the large radio circuits because owner/drivers are forced to join to have any chance of making a living. "Sussex" hates the "exploitative" companies but plays right into their hands by advocating Dereg. Dereg will be the death of independant owner/drivers.
