Went to Car Parks House yesterday to renew my pass. I left with the feeling that I had been Mugged!
Last Year : £17 for the pass. then 60p for parking up to 1hr also after you had payed you got upto 30 mins to get to the exit barrier.
This year £25 for the pass ( it does contain a massive £1 credit on it)
Charges £1 for 30 mins. £1.50 for 1 hr!
These cards are now prepaid cards that you can add credits to at certain pay stations so you dont have to pay on each visit. But your time starts from the entry barrier and ends at the exit barrier, so what could be nearly 90 mins for 60p is now £1.50 for 60 mins ! If you stray over 60 mins it reverts to normal carpark rates !
So first the airport stops kerbside pickups on some lame excuse of Green Issues and security and then when you have no alternative screw you on parking charges! As long as you pay you can now leave your vehicle in the old pick up area in terminal 2 so is that better security!

I think you have been mugged, as are we all.

But we don't get any discount from Gatwick and Heathrow. We pay the say as Mr Joe Public.

Hi Topdogs

I presume they did not offer any consultation to you either, we got treated very badly on our courtesy coach park permit, the cost going up 150% and they expect passengers to walk miles. We have rattled off a letter to our MP.
By they way, don't you think the layout at T2 is an accident waiting to happen, passengers are now forced to walk in the roadway with vehicles reversing from all directions, it really is a shambles. After talking to several drivers and firms who are all permit holders of one type or another there was not consultation with any of the airports "customers".

No consultation at all, the first you know about it is when you renew your pass. I think the system at T2 is a afterthought. As for the dedicated taxi bays in T3 your lucky if you can get one as they seem to be full of a new breed of taxi with only 2 doors!
I have spoken to a number of drivers and the general opinion is that its going to lead to more pickups on slip roads and departure areas leading to more congestion !
