1400 hundred cars on who's fleet? Delta?

Thats a lot of cars on anyones fleet I know where there are 216 hackney carriages and only 6 private hire. lol

And I might add thats not an isolated case. It could be the same in Sefton if they followed my advice? lol

I think I'll leave you dangling on the end of my elasticated piece of string until you realise the stupidity of your question? Furthermore I have no intention of pointing you in the direction of the answer to your stupidity, only to say that you will find it on this site, if you look hard enough?

This topic was about Taxi Owners re-establishing their status, regaining the respect of the public and reclaiming our rights under the royal charter granted in 1193 to ply for hire. The first actual license to ply for hire on the streets was granted in 1639 and based on the terms and conditions of the 1193 charter issued by Richard the First. We have historic precedence and should be proud to belong to that fellowship.
As this forum is called TAXI DRIVER ONLINE should it not give unreserved support to this campaigne. If it is truly a forum for Taxi Drivers then lets hear you declare your support.

You said my previous post was in the wrong section so I have tried to get this a licensing topic, into the correct area, so what is your problem now?

The problem is that you haven't answered many questions in the other thread, so I doubt you will on this one.

Well Amish Boy, I answered every question put directly to me. You are the one that resorted to profanities and personal insult because you are unable to respond with logical rational argument.

Oh no you didn't. I asked you in the "Fight Back" thread to answer a simple question:- " However just to round off T.'s tirade what about:- Hackneys can only be used in person at ranks or by hailing and PHV's should serve only the Pre-booked trade by telephone , e-mail, fax, etc. (NO PHONE BOOKING OF HACKNEYS)

That is 2 distinct and separate markets served by 2 distinct and separate taxi services!"

You made up a story that hackneys had always been phone booked but missed the point of the issue.

All you want is as much of the available business for yourself as possible, that's not unusual but the way you seek to achieve such an end is not by satisfying customer demand, and growing your business. But by doing down your "competition" as much as possible with a dreary old argument over the use of the word "taxi" by the general public. You can trot that line out until you are blue in the face but the public who pay your wages don't give a hoot. So why not save yourself pointless anguish and try posting about something of real concern such as driver safety or the influx of non CRB-checked drivers. Be cool & stay lucky

I asked you simple question regarding the first line of your statement, the question wasn't that difficult to answer but you obviously found it more demanding than most. If you can't or won't answer the question, then just say so, we can then move on.

One more thing, if you don't like this site and what it has to offer, then you might consider either building your own or frequenting another site of your choice? No one twist's your arm to view or participate on TDO, therefore you may wish to consider that the next time you remind us, that Taxi driver online is not a Taxi website?

Are you really claiming that Hackney have nevery taken bookings, I made up a story, how ludicrous. Hackney have always accepted bookings, in my time there were Rank telephones at the head of the rank in a liitle box on a pole. Porters used to bring a list of bookings for the following day. The prebooked work is as much a part of the traditional work of a taxi as street hires. Again the PH wants to take what was and is our traditional work. I have answered every question put to me. Can JD say that ask him !

I sense the hand of censorship is reaching for the off switch, I must be too close to the truth. This is not the only site and I would consider it a total moral victory for me if I was prevented from posting pro-Taxi views on this site. As Jack Nicholson said YOU CANT HANDLE THE TRUTH.

I'm afraid I only answer sensible questions, I reserve the right not to answer questions that are meaningless. I suspect if I didn't answer any of your questions then they must fit into the latter category. You have still to answer the logical question I raised in respect of your hackney carriage statement but considering you can't answer without looking a complete idiot then I think we shall leave it at that.

But T. , you have to ask yourself why PHVs were created in the first place.
It was because of unmet demand for Pre-booked cabs/taxis/PHV's, call them what you will, and who was not meeting the demand? Why Hackney carriages at the time, but they didn't want more hacks being licensed so what have you got instead ... PHVs to do the work that hackneys wouldn't or couldn't do.

You can rant against PHVs all you like but they exist because of the failure of the hackney trade to serve the public and the attempt by the hackney trade to keep the golden goose all to themselves.

Do you think de-limitation would ever have even been thought about if there had not been so many Councils ( with full backing from their local Hackney Assoc ) , trying to limit numbers for so many years.
If councils had a policy of steady increase then the limits would still be in place albeit at a higher level.

Too many hackney owners can only think of their own short term ££££

No, as the title suggests it's about drivers, not cartels and exploitation, so it won't be supporting you Mr TescoTaxiTroll. :D

But I like the history bit about the royal charter and all that - I always said that the restricted numbers gig was feudal in nature and thus your history lesson lends support to that. :D

Ie although you've got a cartel and monopoly and that's lining your pockets that's still not good enough for you.

I suspect you're making a very handsome income compared to most in the trade, yet still you want more?

A real taxi version of Tesco.

Shame!
