Yes I do remember a Councillor Ron Parker who was Chair of the committee that was the Licensing Panel that reported to full council.
He alone could not have decided the issue, you know that so why do you try to mislead readers. Is it to validate your feeble argument.
POOLE IS NOT CAPPED.

Managed growth is the key phase. Poole is not capped we have 1 plate per year issued to the person on the waiting list. This is managed growth and not a cap. You only take in what you want to hear. If every area adopted a similar plan the trade would expand without most of the problems of Dereg/Delimit. A steady managed flow rather than a deluge. Ron Parker did not on his own impose this as you imply it was a result of discussions and consultations between the trade and the council. They took a balanced view and adopted this policy which is working very well. No doubt you will be appalled by this limitation on the issue of plates and scream cartels, monoply etc, but for once the voice of reason got through.

How did I know that you were going to say that? :?

If I applied for a plate form your council they would reply, in the only way the law allows, that there is no SUD and refuse my application.

Now you can live in your little dream world, but to those of us living in the real one, Poole has capped their taxi numbers. ](*,)

As I expected, you are against managed growth you will not be happy until you seen the trade brought to its knees.
If you want a plate get onto the waiting list, that's fair and democratic. No your agenda has always been something for nothing, selfish spoit brat, I want, I want, I want. This site is ANTI the taxi trade you mislead, misdirect and have not got the guts to say what your true intentions are. I urge every area facing Dereg/Delimit to explore managed growth, stop the deluge that will ultimately harm the trade. For operators, drivers, customers etc. there are no benefits in a mass release of plates.

As all 'managed growth' is, is current law, then you are right I'm very much against it.

So your aim is to bring the trade to its knees. I suppose because you are now past getting any real benefit from a plate, even if you got one tomorrow, that makes you so bitter. Time has overtaken you, if years ago you had better managed you time and money, if you had brought a plate you would have earnt more, had a little nest-egg put by for retirement, but no you chose a life of whinging bitternes and resentment against those that had the better business sense. Its not just about money its an attitude to life, to some the glass is half full, to others its have empty, you can't even get in the pub.

That must be a great relief to the local pub trade, where do you go to enjoy yourself, funerals, A&E, what feeds your misey addiction. Well you are in 1066 county, 1066 being the last time anything of interest happened there.

By "business sense" I think you mean buying into a cartel and taking a massive risk on a plate, and that it's worked out?

Yes it worked out very well, thats what makes you so envious. Any business is a risk, if it was that simple everyone would be doing it, even you. Life is not risk free, as I have said before, a thing you get for nothing is worth exactly what you pay for it. The man who risks nothing gets his investment back in full. You throw words like cartel, monopoly, etc about as scare tactics, you prey on peoples fears, there is nothing you will not use to bolster your cause. You have failed because you overdramatise and people see through it, you don't cry wolf, you cry pack of wolfs driven by demons, hysteria! The tide has turned the emporers new clothes are seen for what they are. As for "massive risk" very few plates go for more than a single years takings, hardly massive, but when you constantly think small as you do anything over 1 is fearful.
