I suppose this is where the Nissan engine came from, it was those counterfieting white flag, red centre, barstewards - you never know what they are up to.

I can only speak as I find, the TX11 did not have a Nissan engine, and nobody knows why.

I see what people are saying.
Tight turning circle.
Distinctive shape.
Ease for passengers getting in and out.

Thats why I'm thinking of upgrading to a TUC TUC.

From the cars I've had over the last couple of years ......

TX2

Pros: WAV, 6 seater, security, shape, free plate!
Cons: Poor starting, uncomfy to drive unless your related to Sneezy, Doc, Dopey et al, leaking top hat, noisy, lack of speed, intercom very poor, ripped tyres out, poor brakes, poor access for non wheel chair disabled and elderly, lack of luggage space, rear carpet refused to stay attached to the floor, hard to turn larger wheelchairs and strap in safely, think I better stop now as I actually liked the car

Octavia 1.9 SDi

Pros: Fuel economy, boot like a tardis, easy to clean - always seemed to look the part, surprising good trim ie. thick pile carpets, spares easily available, low serviving costs, initial price
Cons: Gearbox (or on a couple of occassions the lack of one!), steering rack (again the tendancy to part company with the rest of the car!), lack of rear leg room, re-sale value, failed its MOT on day of delivery with 4 miles on the clock due to faulty bolt on suspension

Ford Galaxy

The main problem that I had with this car is that it was never designed nor built to be a taxi - the handles for moving the seats to let passengers into the rear seats are no way near strong enough. Apart from that the 6 speed gear box was great, fuel economy was great, and it was very comfy to drive, servicing costs were pretty low and it did last me over 500k miles and having sold it two years ago I still see it everyday as its a PH now and still going strong.

Ford Mondeo LXTD (X3)

All went back to the dealer with the same problem - it 80k and the fuel pumps gave up! Although my OH has a 54 plate Ghia X Diesel auto and that is a dream to drive but its only done 20k so ask me in another 60.

CITROEN C5 VRX

Heaven in car form 8) When I find a fault I'll let you know! Seven months old, 45k on the clock, and wonderful! Comfy, roomy, high spec, quiet engine, big boot, I'm sure this car would even make me a cuppa if I found the right button! It even closes the windows when you turn on the wipers

I do.

The 'Cabstar' (2.7) replacement engine (Euro 3/4) would'nt fit in the TX's engine space, hence the Ford deal.

The VM seems to be getting a good reception, there are now about 1000 TX4's licensed for London, so far it's looking good.

Be interesting to see them work in the summer months. 8-[
