 Post subject: hands in the till

Oh dear, it now seems the man who worked for station taxi's whilst on the sick has been accused of having his hand in the till to the tune of thousands, this on top of a law suit for unfairly dismissing an operator which has already cost them thousands in legal fees and has not yet got to court and people handing radios in left right and center thereby reducing income, how long can they keep going, this used to be York's biggest taxi operator and through greed and negligence they now had only 6 cars working a radio circuit on saturday night,

How many permit paying drivers do you think station Taxis will be able to retain? And as a matter of interest how many do they have now.

At the moment there are 37 shareholders of station taxis, plus another12 on their radio circuit, the number of permits issued is 116 they issue these on behalf of GNER and say they receive nothing from this, their revenue is from radio rent which is ever decreasing, under previous management there were 126 permits all of who were on the radio circuit and paying rent, no more permits are available unless you go onto the radio circuit and then you can have one yesterday,there are plenty of people wanting a permit but not a radio and this is causing a lot of bad feeling.

So there's a total of 49 radios rented out?

Taking 49 from 116 leaves 67 vehicles without a station taxi radio? Is that right?

The thing is that as the nubers go down the earnings of those left go up and the "grass is greener" syndrome kicks in and drivers start joining them as there will be better earnings available. I doubt their customer base is going down as fast as the nubers of cars
