A young girl didnt stop at a junction and came straight out on to a main road and took me out good style. :? Both are write off's i think, her complete front end has dissapeared and all the nearside of mine from the top of the front wheel arch to the top of the rear wheel arch have been torn to pieces. Luckily no-one was hurt.

This is where a good insurance company comes in handy, I'm with Cabshield and cant fault them at all. Last time it happened (again not my fault) they had a replacement car up to me from Plymouth, Plated, meter re caliberated the lot within 36hrs. But my operator has a claims company with plated cars ready to go so they might authorise me to use them instead. I ache a bit but nowt serious i dont think, im not into milking the system, but i might get checked over just in case.

That is very good, but so it should be when they charge the insurance company £70+ a day.

Hope your ok and glad to hear tht your back on the road so quick and that no one was hurt more than the usual aches and pains.

PLEASE check the rental agreement for your replacement cab though and ensure that somewhere in that small print it doesn't say that if the cost of the hire can'tbe recovered then you are liable - so to put a downer on ya but it does happen (although with less reputable insurers who do have entire threads regards their practices)

AND don't think it's looking for sympathy or milking it but do get yourself checked out; you are entitled to compensation for loss of earnings etc same as anyone else; BUT... your health and future health come first!

Its often a problem sorting the reputable ones from the others i must get one letter a week from these companies promising me £xx if i push drivers their way after a non fault accident but I don't think that thats ethical far better to let the drivers choose for themselves

Well its happened again another driver has lost his cab, a Volvo s80, to a deer in the borders, on Sunday night (8th) and its a right mess.
We have many single track roads here and there is no way to take avoiding action due to dry stone walls on either side, or ditches

I would not sign a rental agreement with the supplier of the vehicle directly do it through your insurance, a company tried to charge me an excess change because the rental was higher than the loss of earning figeur. Unfortunately again our enemies come with smiling faces claiming to help but intending to cost us money. Good luck and get checked out.

Sorry I answered this post earlier, my mistake, I had not yet read your post about me popping up like a boil etc. Still wish you luck with your claim. If you do need a hospital check up or treatment why not put yourself down for a personality transplant whilst your are there. I would donate some of mine but the waiting list is closed at the moment.
