It may work, and unlike the NTA it would cover the whole of the uk.

I would love it to work, but I would also love to win 10 million on the lottery.

And I think the chances of success are better with the lottery as we would have 100 times more chiefs than indians.

Maybe TDO could be a conduit of everyone getting together and being friends.
Maybe we could all sing that song from friends(I,ll be there for you =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> =D> )

You dont really know about the NTA, so how can you suggest anyone clones it or you wouldnt want to be apart of the cloning process?

I dont know where you're from so i cant comment, however, I think your not being fair on eithe rthe T&G or NTA in respect of this point........there is progress being made and I am confident the NTA will be announcing something on the quality aspect during the course of this year.

Well I've kept a reasonably close eye on the taxi scene for a few years now and to be honest I haven't seen much emanating from any of the national bodies in the way of quality control, so if it has been happening then it's being kept very secret. I've never seen much in CTN in that regard, for example.

The majority of NTA members are owner drivers......some 95% +

So if you know the personal circumstances of all of them then there can't be that many.

And I'll bet the other 5% average fifty plates each

But even Sussex isn't up for it, so that would only make two of us.

And no doubt we wouldn't agree anyway

But life would be no fun if we all agreed ................... and the way to find solutions is by arguing or debating with people who disagree with us.

Well in a way you're correct, but in the context of a representative organisation there has to be a degree of common ground.

It's like political parties - there's disagreement within them, but without a large element of common ground they would cease to exist.

In my experience few drivers are particularly interested in getting involved in and running associations ! Round my way there has been several unsuccessful attempts at starting local associations they fail because of apathy and too much self interest with most of the membership wanting policies adopted which suit them not the trade in general

Badger if we send Sussex a £1.00 note, he will think its a fiver and we will have payed 5 weeks in advance.
It works in night clubs down south, I always get change from them when I buy a pint, as they have not seen one for a few years. :D :D :D :D :D
