They seek him here, they seek him there, they seek John Deas, everywhere!

It would appear you are infatuated with this John Deas character Jimbo, I'll get him to give you a ring you so you can get better acquainted.

JD

More fallible than you will admit to. Get the tippex out again, there's no c in that big word you keep trying to impress us with.

I don't understand them all. btu it seems the local council invent things to impose every year on taxis just to let us know they are still there. Make legislation without even talking or checking with those involved. So no real idea of the outcome or effect as they sit in offices all day far emoved from the rest of us.

Made rule that wheelchairs must be facing backwards not sideways. Result. Many could only use the E7 as some wheelchairs could not turn round. less and less disabled goign out. More work for us as we had an E7. Muscles on my eyelids puching all that up and nobody is on a diet.

Signs on roofs signs not on roofs, size of writing on doors. No writing on doors. So nobody knows you are a bloody taxi til you've driven passed them and its on the back. By which time even if you see them waving you can't turn round because of flow of traffic.

Can we have a sponsorship for the stupidest by-law for taxis?

Junie

Too many councils have illegal ones, so maybe we should start with them first.

As for daft ones, well the returning to your office for PH after every job is a good start. [-(

Up to 31 signitories now I see. Including John Gerard Deas.

I have not, and will not, because I am a TAXI driver.

Do read it before you sign it, Hackney Carriage drivers out there.

Jimbo,
although I said in the "extra information" about a single tier rather than a 2-tier system that is not part of the petition.
All the petition says is we want new laws (instead of things that were introduced before man had invented powered flight).
Also the petition does not say what form new laws should take, deliberately, as although I am currently a PH driver, my next move is to HC.
This is not aimed against Hackneys, just pro a more modern set of rules that doesn't see us fighting petty council regulations at every turn.
However if you think all our laws are wonderful then don't sign
