Surely it would not be beyond the wit of man to devise a set of laws which would benefit both provider and user 8)

The above aside, I understand Berwick accept applications by post and will send you all your liceses by return of post....should save people the bother of going up the A1.

I suppose that is after the vehicle has been tested, however it just shows how backward both you and Carlisle council really are because many authorities throughout the country including Manchester encourage postal applications.

Considering the parless state of Carlisle councilors and their known capacity for backward thinking it is therefore no surprise that the innovation of postal applications remains un-chartered territory.

Regardless of the sorry state of Carlisle council I'm surprised the unofficial voice of the NTA is completely ignorant of the modern trends in licensing.

But I forgot, you are stuck in the 1847 time warp and that explains everything.

I may not have had the education you have had JD ................. I may make more mistakes than you within the language or terminology within my posts, buts thats because I'm a fooking taxi driver and not some failed lawyer who was disgraced out of his profession ............... driving a cab must have been a real culture shock for you was it ............... your family must be so proud.

Well that was well worth repeating

By the way, I've yet to meet a driver who left school wanting to be a taxi driver.

So what did the Captain and the Angel fail at before they became taxi drivers?

Grandfather - Taxi Driver - chose hours worked hard made good money.
Father - Civil Servant - had to work his way up ranks (sorry) before making decent money, set hours.

Grandfather - Newcastle supporter.
Father - Sunderland supporter.

BTW Grandfather mentioned is mothers father and father mentioned is her husband.

Got first HC licence at age 21 (minimum age at the time) and did actually leave school thinking I'd rather work hard for myself like Grandad than work hard for someone else like dad.

It was worth repeating, because it is very very amusing.

I can't really see anything amusing about it, even if it was true, but if that's your best contribution then keep it up, because it says a lot.

In fact here's something really funny I found:

Wayne Casey and Trevor Hines knowledge of Hackney Carriage law is second to none.

Thus using GA's logic that must make you a failed lawyer as well - indeed, you still haven't said what you failed at before you decided to become a taxi driver :D

Still, at least you're company for your failed lawyer buddy Derek Cummins - what's he up to now? You and the Law part 5,478?

So many "failed lawyers" in the trade who have been "disgraced out of their profession".

Good job I'm not an expert on hackney carriage law then \:D/
