I've managed just fine without any form of 'protection' during that time, I've never been assaulted, or had the taxi damaged by unlawful violence, nor ever received any 'serious' threats from any individuals,

Then you have indeed been very fortunate. Do you think you would be as lucky if you didn't sit in an isolated and enclosed space, physically separated from your punters?

Alright folks?!

About to venture out in the big bad world of PH in glasgow next week. Just wondering what you guys have in terms of 'items' to hand in the car. i.e. big metal torch? Hammer ect?

I have been given an extending baton by a friend but i'm not sure of how legal it is. So what can or can't I have in the car?

Cheers
take gcc to court 4 a plate, win, then get yourself a tx or e7 and coz even more gridlock on the severe lack o rankspace we have !!! :D

Clearly not a lot can stop a bullet, but I think it's pretty clear that drivers are better protected in a WAV rather than a saloon.

That said a mate of mine was quoted today £33,000 for a bronze auto TX4.

I doubt if anything could have stopped that.
Your chances of physical assault, stabbings (knives and syrynges) as well as hijacks are much lower and you know it.

Maybe people should walk a mile in our shoes before commenting on our motives

It does not matter what you carry to defend yourself, by the time you realise you need it, it's to late.
Just keep your wit's about you and if you don't like the look of a punter pull off.
