Taxi Driver Online

I'm not sure if this is newsworthy, if it's in the right section, or if indeed the grammar is acceptable, however, if anyone is interested.
A hackney driver in York has been robbed of his Friday night takings at 2am on Saturday morning in a vicious attack.

The incident happened in the Tang Hall area of the City involving two youths who attacked him with a metal chain, and then made off with his cash dispenser, the police were exceptionally busy but are doing what they can in an attempt to arrest the culprits.

Execptionally busy to ignore an armed robbery.

I know that was tongue in cheek, but the reason why folks on here get the hump when drivers are attacked/robbed/murdered is because no-one outside of the trade really gives a flying f***.

If A&E Nurses were being attacked/murdered as Cab Drivers are then we would have questions in the House and letters to the Telegraph from Disgusted of Tunbridge Wells

However it's only Cab Drivers and most of them are Asian Chappies anyway

Get a sound/vision Camera. Then the *************** will think twice!

the driver, have heard, was held from behind by a youth in the rear seat who put a chain around his head and pulled him back into the seat, another youth was in the front pasenger seat

cctv image from the station railway rank is very grainy [time this camera was upgraded]

the driver not of great physical build, but a meek and mild bloke, who has just recently met a Chinese lady who has just acquired a permanent visa to live over here, marriage is on the cards in the very near future for the pair

the driver was involved in unpaid charity work, helping others, he has been a hack driver for some good few years and always took care in who he picked up, but as it was in the very ealy hours these slipped through the judgment net

i am led to believe his trade in the past was accounts, and he was hoping to get back into this, i don't think he will be back on the taxis

investigation is still ongoing
