Well cleary the legislation affords LAs some discretion on such matters, but mandatory CCTV seems a bit extreme if you ask me, and I couldn't see it being upheld in a court of law.

Mind you, such niceties as the law hasn't necessarily stopped LAs in the past. [-X

Having said that, I daresay that some licenced premises may have to have CCTV and the like as a condition, so it's perhaps not that far-fetched?

Sussex makes quite a cogent case for it, and of course even case law moves with the times, so who knows?
