Birmingham airport has now strated charging vehicles £1 to use the carpark nearest the terminal for dropping off having closed off the access roads to the terminal drop off zones if you want to drop your passengers off without paying you have to so so in the long stay car park half a mile from the terminal building !

Initially they were allowing 10 mins free in that car park but have now jacked the fares up and are not allowing pick ups from that car park as used to be the case but directing the cars to the multistorey car parks further away

I did do a pick up from there yesterday and wasn't challenged goping into that car park but it strikes me that a bit of profiteering is going on at Birmingham using the current security situation as an opportunity to generate extra car parking revenue
