SICK PAY NOW AVAILABLE FOR MEMBERS
At last weve been able to negotiate a sick pay, accident cover, and death benefit, scheme plus hospstitilisation payment scheme for MEMBERS only!
£6 a month 20p a day gets you £100 a week
£10 a month 33p a day gets you £200 a week
£15 a momth 50p a day gets you £300 a week
Plus £10000 death benefit and £50 a day hospitilisation payment!
To obtain similiar cover elsewhere would cost £45 a month.
We believe this is a major breakthrough in protecting Drivers from hardship in the event of unforseen circumstances, we all have many commitments, Rent, Mortgages, Loans, credit agreements etc. This scheme will help considerably alleviate these situations.
We are told that once we a obtain large numbers of Drivers the premiums will drop,This scheme is of course available to office staff within the industry, and in London to workers in any industry, except motor cycle couriers, and certain workers within the construction Industries. We are hopefull of making it available to all GMB members nationwide in the course of time, however if your in the PHV or Hack industry anywhere in the UK it is now available to you, given that of course you are a GMBPDB member.

The problem with these schemes is that they are aimed at the most apathetic of folks around i.e. the taxi/PH trade.

When we don't need these type of schemes we moan as to why we keep putting our money in, and when we do need them, we find out we didn't put in so we can't take out.

But, for what it's worth, at least the GMB have made an effort to do something.
