I only hope you guys can stick together on this. It will only take a few greedy sh*tbags to wreck what you are trying to do. :sad:

Well the local media are certainly giving the issue plenty of coverage now:

- two lead stories in the morning paper in a week;

- covered on local radio news;

- on tonight's TV news as well;

- three articles spread over two pages in tonight's evening paper (links below).

Incidentally, it said in tonight's paper that Mr Young of 203020 had failed to respond to queries at the time of going to press, but he was interviewed on tonight's TV news, and said that the issues had been raised at a taxi liason meeting, and that the trade are just getting het up because they didn't get the answers they wanted.

As I said things seem to being blown out of proportion a bit, but 203020's method seems to be a bit "in your face" and sailing close to the wind.

The photo in the article below shows the rank at the nightclub better than the photos above:

Police are also warning against roadblocks:

Police to take action, against drivers, what a load of sheit, if they where to get there fingers out, and take action against the PH there would be no need to protest.
Does any one know a friendly Juggernaut driver who could break down directly outside the gates on a Saturday night while all the cars are in the yard :wink: :wink:

Is it not about time facts were printed instead of utter bull, the Fat Sam Central is legal it is a waiting area for the PH cars. I can assure you this has been checked with both the council & police.

Fat Sams place an order for cars to cater for their customers this is recorded on 203020 computer system. Why can people not accept this. The question should be asked is WHY DID THEIR COMPANYS NOT THINK OF IT !!!

The laughable accusation of operating without insurance... come on who are you trying to kid...did they (203020) not run an add stating their insurance was in place if not I'm positive both the council & police would have taken action.

203020 have been penilised for a breach of company law, not many of the cabbies will understand why this has occured they only listen to the gossip from the ill informed taxi rank lawyers, what they should be happy about is the fact 71 hacks are no longer plying the ranks for trade.

The funny thing about all this is the leaders of these so called associations E & S, BOTH THESE GUYS were organisers of the Dundee Private Hire Assoc way back in the 80's I attended a board meeting where E demanded that his 72 menbers were granted Hackney plates, at the time there was a waiting list which they said plates should not be granted to, only grant to us the private hire then close off the town, I remember the Hacks at that time hating these two, funny thing is the same accusations were flying about regarding picking up off the street etc.

The town opened up everyone got their plates, then would you believe it these guys were telling anyone who would listen that there's no money to be made, too many cars we can't make a living.

E then gave up his hackney plate ( I wonder if it was a problem with HMIR ) then low and behold he reappears a few years later with a Wheelchair Taxi Licence and proceeds to get back on his high horse to complain there's no money to be made, private hire are stealing all the street work....get a life and some HONESTY!!

Finally my last rant about the dildo twins can they explain why they DEMANDED to the council that TAX REFERNCE NUMBERS MUST BE INCLUDED ON ALL OPERATOR/DRIVER LICENCE APPLICATIONS ??????

DUNDEE is dominated by Tele/Handy Taxis with over 400 cabs a mixture of Hacks, Wheelchair, Private Hire if there is a problem with PH then why are you lot giving hard earned money to the OWNERS OF THIS COMPANY?

Stop making an arse of the trade with stupid statements which have no substance.

If customers are being drawn to the PH waiting point from the taxi rank then it is not legal.

The way it is set up may be legal, The way that it is being operated is the stumbling block.

Ha! ha! ha! You guy's are feeding the fire, turning the council & police against the trade by making stupid statements what should be happening is a challenge to Tele Taxis to compete with 203020 for work instead of letting them dominate.

You are right with the first post "ashamed" Tele's/Handys take our money and give nothing back it's them who should be doing something for the trade.

Davy Young is loving this, free advertising !!

Not only are you turning the council and police against the trade the general public will be next. At the end of the day it is the public who decide what company they use whether it be 203030 / tele's or handy's no amount of striking or bitching will change that. If the taxi drivers are busy protesting then the customer will phone a company who isn't protesting!! There has been 71 yellow plates taken off the road you should all be happy not persuing a personal vendetta against 203020!! You may have the Dundee Courier in your corner but has any of you actually spoken to a solicitor there is no laws being broken! 203020 have stepped up their business because of losing the yellow plates, fair play to them.

Ask yourself what are your companies doing for you!!!!!!!!!!! jealousy is a terrbile thing!!! :mrgreen:

Is the rank in operation at the times they are using this plot?
Up here we are not allowed to pick up (or stop) within 50 yards of a rank (during its period of operation if part time). Do you have a similar condition in Dundee?
I asked this earlier but got no reply. Can one of the Dundee guys respond please.

The conditions will have been given to you along with your cab licence

There are no such restrictions, if any of the other companies had done this do you think they would be complaining,what 203020 have done is a smart bit of business,what also is being missed is the fact 203020 is a mixed office.

As I have said before they should look at their own office's and ask what are you doing for the fees we pay!!!

I am astounded that these same guy's who hate either PH or just 203020 are happy to work alongside PH in their offices.

The real question that should be getting asked is why do we now have 205 Wheelchair Taxis in Dundee.

The Birmingham Airport, and the Eastbourne Station, judgements say what's happening would be illegal down here.

Up there I'm not 100%.
