I think its a disgrace, the reason that the ethnic's are so low in london taxis is because you need to read, write and speak english to do the knowledge.

It's just the way things are now, what next, lowering the standards to be a doctor to attract a certain ethnic group.

In life some people can do certain jobs and others can't.

There are quite a few women and Black & Asian people driving cabs now. They got their Badge the hard way like everyone else. They don't need to be treated any differently to anyone else, bit patronizing if you ask me. This devalues the hard work they have put in. People will think they haven't done it properly, they'll look like 2nd class Taxi Drivers.

GBC You got any idea of the LTDA's position with this scheme? They're raking it in since the 'Bash the Flash' campaign. Thought they might have something to say.

I spoke with Barry Hooper today, and their position is that whilst they disagree no one should have financial assistance on the Knowledge, whilst the majority don't . . . they (the target groups) will still have to do the work, do the appearances, do the map tests, do the drivinig and wheelchair test etc etc

I think Barry is under the impression, after speaking to some of the PCO staff, the scheme will have a greater failure rate for candidates as they are being 'forced' onto it, opposed to the rest of us who done it because we wanted to.

Make sense?

Today's Taxi paper has Ken on the front page, says Examiners will have no way of knowing who's on the scheme.
Make sense?

The problem you have is that when none of these candidates pass the knowledge test they or their representatives are going to go to ken Livingstone and explain that the knowledge test is far too difficult to pass and that it should be simplified to accommodate minority groups.

There lies your problem.

It's quite easy Mr Limo man, the examiners talk to the candidates.

There might also be some small clue's if they're from an ethnic minority, or wearing a skirt?

:?

You would not be stating that they have greased black hair or a shaved head and wear a black leather jacket, and have a per-ma tan and talk with a funny accent GBC

No, because they don't qualify for a free Knowledge of London?

If your female or from an ethnic minority, are you seriously suggesting that your going to do the Knowledge and pay your own way, when a blank cheque for a scooter, servicing, bike kit, paperwork and childcare is waiting on you when you sign onto the the Socialist fool's discriminatory scheme?

Get real.
