TDO can confirm that this appeal has now been heard and the council decision has been upheld by the magistrates. We don't know the circumstances or medical background surrounding the revocation of license but I hope the gentleman concerned appeals to the crown court, if only for his own satisfaction?

Delay in taxi licence appeal bid

A Court has adjourned an appeal against a decision by Swansea Council to refuse a taxi licence to a Gorseinon man on medical grounds.

Keith Davies had been refused a hackney carriage licence because of a problem with his right eye, city magistrates were told.

The court heard that the 48-year-old, of Loughor Road, had held a licence since 1993.

Mr Davies told the court his eye condition had not deteriorated and his optician's prescription had not changed in the last 12 to 14 years.

The court adjourned the matter for further information from an optician in relation to Mr Davies.
