I know many cab drivers who don't benefit from quotas, including many in your manor.

I also know many cab drivers who have benefited from the ending of quotas throughout the UK. :D

Or would you rather the cab drivers should remain deserving of it themselves? :D

I would much rather all cab driver were treated as equals, and when that happens maybe the trade can concentrate a bit more on the real issues that effect us all.

Equals?........ Hmmm, who exactly is given the task of treating these poor hapless individuals unfairly, and by whome. Doesn't none of these drivers know whats good for them, and how come not being able to earn a living isn't a real issue for the trade?
The taxi trade isn't a class strugle, but simply as a means of earning a living. There is a lot of equality within the trade, only more difficult to make a living now here in Sheffield than most other places.

It would indeed be a step forward to appreciate that one uniting point of our work is to give service in order to earn a living, and not some religioun inspired public good, and maybe rewards in the hereafter.

Well recently the council have been told to issue some plates for free by the courts, so are we agreed they benefited?

And a dozen years ago or so the council de-limited for a while, so are we agreed many 100s benefited then?

And are you really saying that none of the 2000 licensed cab drivers in your manor that don't have their own vehicle licenses are happy with that situation? :?

However, as it always seems to be overlooked, theres a small bonus to London in that we have access to Millions of customers, Sheffield and other area's don't.

What has that got to do with anything?

Are you saying that the less populous the location then the less earnings will be?

Does this apply to all businesses or just taxis?

"issue some plates for free by the courts, so are we agreed they benefited?"

Mr/s Salteri benefited - they sold the business before the plate was on a taxi - so how did that benefit anyone else :?: :?: :?: :?: :?:

so are we agreed many 100s benefited then?

And many more suffered because of the oversupply of taxis - so who did that benefit?

don't have their own vehicle licenses are happy with that situation?

The grass is always greener on the other side, and the human condition is such that there are some who will believe that they will be the exception to the rule. There are also many people who belong to the screw you school, and went on to the I'm alright jack college - but that's taxi drivers for you

Well clearly he benefited from the sale of his own license in the same way everyone else in your manor may benefit from transferring their plates.

I can't see your point TBH. :?
