The GMB PDB National representatives committee were given a copy of the meeting of minds minutes, as the GMB PDB believe in transparancy and domocracy, we feel obliged to list these minutes here and on our taxi forum.

Yep a self appointed North west centred cabal purely it looks like to present a parochial position and then pretend they represent the industrys nationally. Good job the GMBPDB got hold of the minutes hopefully we can prevent further misrepresentation! It seems that honesty and openess dosnt mix with this lot.Pat Connor told me he didnt know Norman Deegan 3 times last week but these minutes record him attending 2 meetings with him!

Had a meeting recently near Dunstable where i was told of one Norman Deegan allegedly saying dont join the GMB a left wing political org intent on destroying the nation, now idexpect the WC[wayne casey]to spout such crap and the scouser MrT but thought this guy had more sense!

Many questions remain regarding the NTA
1 Did they donate to the BNP
2 Do they admit individual Drivers into membership
3Are they really only a fleet owners grouping
We will contact our fellow TU allies in the T&G to hopefully clarify just exactly is going on at these meetings!
In the meen time can anyone give me Chapter and Verse on this NTTG????????????
Well done Terry ! nice to see someone else, can see what there trying to do.

And the winner of the most stupidest question of the year is 'just above'. ](*,)

Even if the answer was yes, do you really think they would say so?

If anything is going to get folks away from the importance of the Meeting of Minds, it's going to be this.

In other words sections of the GMB would be better debating the issues and finding a way forward, rather than continuing this barmey pointless witch-hunt. [-X

Sussex..................... Terry has now become a national joke. nobody is ever going to take him seriously ever Again ... I have friends in the GMB who are hard working Taxi drivers' that I have worked with successfully over the years, it seems that it is Terry's intention to bring prominent members of the GMB into disrepute.. a very serious thing to do.... people that have won battles for the cab trade in the past on many occasions ,
Terry has obviously made up his mind that Pat is a threat to him, and has now started his hate campaign against him, the GMB seems to have serious problems within its organisation ....... and the infighting is being caused by Terry's compulsion to be in control... a person with a history of failure .... and no knowledge what so ever of the hackney and private hire trade........... it a very sad day for the GMB....... They have my condolences....

See the things the GMB, and for that matter anyone else with PH members should be asking, is why;

1) The T&G are requesting PH must go back to base before they take another job,
2) The meeting couldn't come to a consensus on PH bus lane access,
3) The DfT hasn't given proper guidance for the Road Safety Act 2007,
4) Naleo think it reasonable for PH to pay for taxi surveys,

Oh and how sad is it to see one member of the GMB National taxi/PH executive calling another member a liar publicly on a taxi forum? [-X

I think Mr Brighton Breezy and the GMB deserve a huge amount of credit for bringing these issues out into the open. Here we have a group of people who think they can make and change laws behind the backs of the UK taxi and private hire trade without being accountable.

I'm going to study these minutes very carefully.

One point that didn't escape my attention was this.

NTTG Pat Connor 24th April 2007

GMB Pat Connor 11th September 2007

I made reference yesterday that these people pizz in the same pot even though they might represent seperate Trade bodies, for example Pat Connor has one foot in the NTTG Camp and another in the GMB Camp. Not one GMB member in Manchester was informed of this little get together or asked for any input and it is obvious that Mr Connor was not delegated to represent the National GMB. You might think it strange that at one meeting he represents the NTTG and the next he represents the GMB.

I said yesterday that the GMB should allocate independent thinkers to this little gathering of minds and exclude those who have a conflict of interest by having an allegiance to other trade bodies.

I don't know if national or regional setup exists in the NPHA association but perhaps someone can inform us?

Regards

JD

Perhaps you will be so good as to point us in the direction of the documentation that informs Manchester GMB members of the proposals or minutes of this meeting of minds exercise? There has been no such official document and whether or not Mr Connor wants to confide in certain individuals of his choosing is in my opinion even more sinister. Now that the evidence is out in the open Mr Connor or anyone else cannot deny the facts surrounding this exercise so it wouldn't surprise me that in the last few days he may have told certain persons?

According to the representative of NALEO these mom discussions should be debated by the whole of the Taxi trade and not just a chosen few? No doubt the person you spoke to from Manchester forgot to inform you that the information was off the record because there is certainly no information on the record. However, now that the information has appeared on the GMB forum website, Mr Connor can't now hide the fact that the meetings have taken place and what those minutes contain. So if any member in Manchester or the rest of the country does know, then it is down to the National GMB and their recent disclosure.

Regards

JD

Let's hope that these meetings can carry on with full involvement from all sections of the trade.

TBH I think a start has been made on something that could be very good, big could, but I'm in a positive mood today. :D

I can say in all honesty(IMO) that the best thing for the Taxi and private hire trade is for all associations to sit round the table and work together, that has always been the aim.
