It has been said on a number of occasions re foreign players stopping the development of our own players, because of the numbers of them playing in the premiership.

It just struck me the other day "our Welsh side". I can remember the days when the Welsh side could field an entire side from the old 1st division. Today we might have 3/4 playing on a regular basis in the premiership, and it is very much the same for the Irish and Scottish sides.

This could be a prime example as to why our home sides are struggling.

Then i can have other teams to cheer for in euro 2008!
Will they sack McCLAREN if they get through?

It is suggested that Mr Abramovich offered £100,000 a man to win.

It is also suggested that a un-named English businessman offered the scorer of a Isreali winner, first class travel to and from London, 2 nights in a top London Hotel and a visit to any car showroom to buy a car of their choice.

Thankfully, Mr Abramovich didn't need to pay out .................. but I wonder if the un-named businessman fulfilled his promises.

Maybe the £100,000 a man was out bid by some betting ring. What were the odds on Isreal to win?

Israel were at 6/1 and were heavily backed by some , a lot of doubles with Italy.
