Used car as a taxi
A Spalding man who was running an unlicensed taxi business while he looked for work has been given a driving ban for having no insurance.
Bogdan Komisarz , of Halmergate, was stopped on St Thomas's Road, Spalding, and found to be driving without insurance.
Spalding magistrates on Tuesday heard how he had 12 points on his licence but had not been previously disqualified after pleading exceptional hardship on September 18.
Komisarz told the court on Tuesday that he was driving people to airports as a side job while he waited to get a forklift driver's job. He said the car he was in belonged to his girlfriend and he was intending to get insurance the day after he was stopped.
Komisarz said he believed the law was the same as in Poland, meaning he would be able to get insurance within a short time period. He also admitted he was not registered with the local authority to drive his own car as a taxi as he had only recently started doing it. Magistrates disqualified Komisarz for six months.
He was also fined £350 and ordered to pay £43 costs and a £15 victim surcharge.
Tip of the iceberg or what?
For everyone thats caught, how many get away?
