You are very welcome GA. (to come that is)

I sent a brochure to the college, so they may want a presence there? If they have not received it then let me know.

Regards,

I thought you were quite happy working under section 75 exemption or whatever it is? oh right it is ending in January. Are you going to apply for a plate in one of these areas to do you emirates chaufering work?

Ok people,

I need to know -

The licensing area for Manchester Airport.

The licensing area for Birmingham Airport.

The licensing area for Liverpool Airport.

also, as much info on local T&C's and fee's as possible.

Cheers boys and girls, and remember

B. Lucky :D

Something like that ALS ............. but there again I'm not the only person working under S75 (b) that has had to change .......... now am I.

Anyway good luck with the Upfront Taxi Show next year, I'm sure that it will prove to be a massive success ................. although it seems through your wording of the last post that my attendance will not be warmly greeted.

B. Lucky

For what its worth ................ licensing is welcomed by many companies previously LEGALLY ALLOWED TO TRADE UNDER SECTION 75 (b).

This change in the law will, without doubt, benefit them as well as the existing PH and HC trades .................... believe it or not ............. but they don't like having their professional trade tarnished by those who have a few quid to spend on a nice car and don't deliver the service under proper contracts lasting more than the 7 days determined by the law, to the same standards.

The company I work for conducts CRB checks on all drivers and offers training of a far superior standard than is required to obtain a PH drivers badge .................. one of few I agree .............. but doing the job right all the same.

There again though ............ there are people that think they are some how better because of the plate affixed to the rear of their vehicles or the permits in the windscreen.

There are taxidrivers and people who drive taxis ................. and never the twain shall meet.

For what it's worth I think any fleet of vehicles operating under the 75 exemption was acting illegally.

It should have been one car, one contract.

Maybe the most relevant word in your post is SHOULD.

I always understood it to be the other way around.
1 contract 1 car. Which meant that you had to stipulate on the contract which car would be used. You could have several contracts for each car but they all had to be for at least 7 days.

No, it had (has until 28/01/08 ) to be an exclusive hire for in excess of seven days, with a written date of expiry for the contract.

When they date has passed, then another contract may be taken.

Well actually it was, not should. The should relates to what the so-called bad guys should have been doing.

But didn't.

I couldn't possibly comment ..................... all I know for sure is that 28th of Jan can't come quick enough.

It'll sort the men from the boys.

Would you mind pointing that out to Bill Bowling, the legislation guru at the NLcA because that is what he has been advising members to do for years and I don't think any were prosecuted.

Was that before the ramifications of the Road Safety Act became apparent? :D

So are we saying that if councils adopt the guidelines then there are no loopholes those requiring licenses can escape through ............... because none seem to be apparent.
