Soooo which act is the one that counts for today, or does it depend on wots crossed out and wots left in.

In England and Wales it's the 1847 and the 1976 act.

Parts of the 1847 act were amended by the 1976 act, but not all.

So for you and me section 64 of the 1847 act is still law.

Please remember that charging more than the councils prescribed tariff in a HC is an offence.

Gateshead allow £1 for 5 or more. Which is a total pi$$ take and should have been changed with Novembers annual rise, which also wasn't done.

Still, drivers know best

Gateshead is £1.50 for more than 4 passengers, and the council offered an inflation "busting"0.85% for November.

Absolutely correct ALS ............. £1.50 it is.

0.85% is indeed a disgrace ................ what happened to the formula, or are our friends claiming that the formula showed 0.85%?

Discussions previously suggested a Christmas rate, was this just brushed under the carpet also?

All the Best.
