Council's new taxi voucher scheme

A Suffolk council is launching a new travel initiative for elderly and
disabled people who cannot access public transport.

Forest Heath District Council will be introducing the concessionary travel
voucher scheme from April 1, which will provide an alternative to the bus pass.

Residents aged 60 or over, who live in remote areas, or are severely
disabled will be eligible for up to £80 worth of vouchers a year, which can
be used with participating taxi companies anywhere in Suffolk. The taxi
firms in Forest Heath accepting the vouchers are M and L Taxis, NewTax
and Style Cars.

More information is available at the council's in Mildenhall, Newmarket and
Brandon or call 01638 719000.
