Taxi driver beaten and racially abused

A taxi driver was beaten and racially abused after a dispute with a
passenger in Northampton.

The driver collected a man from the Sheep Street end of the Drapery,
Northampton, at about 11.45pm on Sunday.

When the taxi reached the agreed destination of Kingsley Road, a dispute
began about the fare and the passenger punched and kicked the driver, at
the same time racially abusing him.

The driver suffered cuts to his face and head.

The offender was a white man aged between 36 and 43 years. He was
around 5ft 7ins tall, stocky with a muscular build, short, with
skinhead-style hair, a local accent and a slight suntan.
