TAXI THUG LOCKED UP

A DRUNKEN teenage yob who attacked an elderly cabbie with a knife over a pounds 3.80 fare has been locked up.

The 69-year-old driver crashed as he tried to escape thug David Adamson, 19.

Jedburgh Sheriff Court heard how the victim suffered cuts to his face and hands.

Adamson, of Hawick, admitted November's attack in the town. He was sentenced to two years, eight months in a young offenders' institution.
